MJ, are you working on ELIMINATE? Since, you are the star here, I think most people here would love to know what projects you currently work/worked on and what you are actually doing(e.g. coding/designing/...) even if that seems a bit of topic ... I would definitely love to!
Well that is certainly a pessimistic guess on my part, but you never know what type of thing will crop up during the release candidate phase of software development. Different companies assign different meanings to the term "Release Candidate". For example, Microsoft released a version of Windows 7 six months ago that it called a RC, but it was missing a ton of features, and was never expected to be the version shipped. Other companies really consider each RC a potential shipping version, barring any unforeseen issues. For most companies, it is somewhere in between. They often know that there is a release-preventing issue in an RC version, but they produce one anyways because they think that some other parts of the app are final and they want to thoroughly test those other areas. Without knowing how Ngmoco defines RC, and without knowing what type of problems will crop up in testing, it is really tough to give a definite release window. One thing I will venture to guess is that since Touch Pets has gone through more RC versions, there is probably not going to be a technical reason we don't see it launch before Eliminate. They might hold off submission or release until both are ready, but it is probably closer to finished than Eliminate is, based on the amount of testing it has gone through. Plus, there is always the unfortunate possibility that Apple will reject the app for some completely unforeseen reason, like what happened with Minigore.
I actually think ngmoco will submit Eliminate to apple this Friday. I have a really good feeling it will be accepted by Apple some time next week. It's definitely not coming out next month. It should be on our devices within the next 8-10 days. I just can't wait till I log on to TouchArcade and go to the forums and see the thread "Eliminate Is Out!!!!!!!!!!" October's a good month so far. I'm getting a free 16 gig, brand new iPod Touch 2nd Generation next month, I'm doing better in the Plus+ network (I only have 1000 points though, I didn't get a chance to play the games before, but now I have more time). Alert: Following paragraph is off topic. I have to let all this out.. lol.. But one thing, and this is off topic, so sorry. Anyways, one thing is killing me. In Language Arts Honors, my teacher is nice, but when she yells, it's horrible, and she grades really harshly. Anyways, on the summer journal entries I got an 88 () and on the in class essay I got a 90. Then on our first project I got a 95. Then, we had to read My Delicate Heart condition (ugh..) and we had a four question quiz. I got one wrong. . Then we had a Spelling Test (wow..) and I got a 100. Then.. I had a quiz on Walter Mitty and I got a ..... 27 percent/100!!! That's because, this is what happened: I read the short story like 6 times, and the teacher tells us, literally one minute before the quiz. "Oh yeah, I also put vocab on the quiz." I'm like "WTF!!" So i take the quiz, and boom- I fail. Brought my average from like a 92 to a 79. Then we had a vocab test, and I got a 103 and brought my average to an 85. Sucks. Sorry for being off topic, I just really had to let all that out.. Lol..
Also, one quick question regarding plus+. Do you have to be on wi fi to obtain achievements? Or can you get achievements and get an alert later?
Well regarding that point, I believe that the only achievements that are winnable require you to be in multiplayer modes, so you're going to be connected to the server by default when you win them.
Haha, well I understand that for Eliminate. But, I'm talking in general about games integrated with Plus+ (Rolando, Topple, Dr. Awesome, etc.) Do you have to be online to get points? By the way, thank you for staying active on this forum thorughout (answering questions and giving information) You're not even part of ngmoco and you're helping out.. Thanks! Lol.
yes, thats a reason, sorry for posting this in this thread, I know I went wrong, just not to happy because I bought their apps at full price, and enjoyed them (felt most of them do not worth it but anyway, they are OK games), but now most of them are free with ads, I paid for them, ads are annoying, thats all. Hope to stop this "fight", sorry for the wrong thread
Yes i agree thank you for answering so many question. You sure you do not work for these companies if not maybe they should hire you.
Well the way it is supposed to work is that your awards and status are synced back up with Plus+ when you sign in to a network connection. However, a lot of people are reporting serious issues with Skee-ball erasing data earned when you're not signed in, so I'd approach with caution. Glad to help out! Haha, why would they want to hire me when I'm already answering questions for free?
We know for sure that it hasn't been submitted yet as of earlier today. Give it a week or so before it is submitted, that is my guess.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it as well, but I'd prefer they iron out the show-stopping bugs before release. The last thing we want is for the game to break for some people when they launch, and then have to put up with a bunch of complaints and low ratings because it wasn't tested thoroughly enough. Remember the most important thing: Ngmoco doesn't make any money from threatening to release a game. Believe me, they're even more eager to sell the game than we are to buy it!
I talked a little bit about them in my community day impressions. To summarize, I only got a chance to try the machine gun and the shotgun. I loved the feel of the machine gun (especially upgraded!), but the shotgun was way too weak. I shot someone point blank in the back 5 times with it, and they turned around and killed me; that isn't right. However, that was a while ago, and I'm sure balancing has changed since then.
