No i think he means he would like there not to be countdown, or an announcement saying they are putting finishing touches on, yet it is really still months away. Those false announcements make every one excited, and then it never comes out.
With every countdown there has been something cool like a new trailer or in the case of this latest one, the embargo for web site being up so you could read about previews? I don't understand what the problem is.
Think of it this way: ngmoco is the Blizzard of iPhone gaming. They take as long as they need to make a product virtually perfect for launch, regardless of the community's reaction. Then, once it out, people finally appreciate the high level of quality and care the developers put into every product. For this, and sticking to their guns, I give ngmoco my utmost respect.
See that's the message I was hoping for the whole week Thanks MJ! Now I'm happy to know that they're probably half-way trough!
what r u talking about... I was talking about stp tim complaining about chappers complaining. I just thought that stp tim got chappers complain wrong and wanted to clarify it for him... Im not complaining about anything. I dont mind if ngmoco takes a while cuz the videos that r coming out showing progess are getting better and better. Also the previews look good.
Wow. Looks like some progress is being made. Already hitting RC 3, eh? Good news. According to twitter, they said they're shooting for 3-5 RC's. So that means it should be in Apple's hands around Friday, and in our hands around the 15th. And since March I thought I'd be playing this game in July! Who cares! I'm happy I waited. They added so much depth into this game. It reminds me of the looooong wait for Need For Speed: Undercover. Months and months I waited. But, it really was worth it; with the story mode, great graphics, and amazing customization options! Eliminate will definitely be worth the wait!
yeah thanks for sticking up for me.i just don't think i put it across very well. i like a polished product I'd just they rather them not build up hype then say they will do more to it. because with the countdowns it makes you think they have finished the game and done everything to in when the real fact is that they'll keep making us wait for the game becaus ethey still haven't finished it.
I don't think they realized it would take as long as it has. I'm sure they had the best intentions to release the game earlier, but the game kept shifting directions. They added a bunch of RPG elements and a high-end matchmaking engine, and those delayed the game a bit. I think we're getting a better product then they originally announced, so I'm okay with the wait.
Yeah, I know what you mean! I also thought that the final BIG countdown would lead to the release or at least a release date which was more likely. But we can't blame them!
I'm sorry but I agree with people saying that it's taking forever. I certainly don't want them to release a buggy game and want them to take as long as they need to. What I don't agree with is that it's taken so long to get to this stage after they announced the game 10 million years ago. I also don't think they should have had those countdowns for the 'cool' previews. First of all, they're not cool previews. Just some more information about the game. People expect a countdown to count down to something important, like a release of a product or, if it's something secret, the announcement of what it is. Eliminate was certainly not a secret product, and the final countdown was just information, which wasn't something we didn't already know. Anyway, enough about the rants. I really want the product to be released bug free, and I don't mind if it takes them another month or two. What I don't like was all the teasing and nothing substantial coming out of it. Just keep it secret and announce it a month before it comes out. That way people won't suffer waiting for it.
Yeah, I also think that they REALLY want to get this right with the initial RELEASE. I find the changes also very compelling and worth the wait as it ADDS a lot more depth to the game than just collecting points and leveling up!.
I agree, the new additions are well worth it. I could definitely see myself getting into the upgrading and customization elements, where I wouldn't be as interested in a straight deathmatch shooter.
This will do that too, it just has that extra dimension for people who want to get into something more. The actual gameplay in this game is excellent - I'm sure it will impress you.
From what you've described already I'm really looking forward to trying out it myself. I haven't been so excited about a game release for a long time. Btw, you've looked through your website and your photos are straight BEAUTIFUL!
Don't want to start any new rumors but MJ have you changed the logos of Touchpets and ELIMINATE? Do the final ones look like these or the ones on the webpage? Since I belive 95% would love to have the one on this picture:
Hey, that's my picture! =P I believe that those are old icons for the games - look at the Rolando 2 one. I remember seeing an old review of Rolando 2, back from WWDC or something, and it had that icon. So, yeah, I'm pretty sure they're old icons.
I'm definitely excited about this one as well, I'll probably spend a few extra dollars on day one just to have a nice long play session with the game on launch! Also, thanks, glad you like my photos! I'm pretty sure those are actually older logos, but they're way better than the current ones. Especially the Touch Pets one. I'm having trouble believing that the logos on the Plus+ website are final though, because they're absolutely terrible, and Ngmoco has a really good consistency rate for making great icons. The only bad icon they have had so far is Word Fu, so I'd be surprised if they release both of their flagship games with lame icons.
What are those things, are they just cardboard logos of the games? Also am I correct to assume its all schwag from their community day.
