Cool, thanks for the info! One more question: Do private games hosted between friends count for credits? Because if they do, I could see this as being an easy exploit to get a bunch of credits by setting up an unused iPhone as your opponent.
Again from the ngmoco Game Makers interview with Alan- It wouldn't surprise me if the energy system was never fully finalized, even after the game's release.
I could see this being easily exploited as well. Oh well - I suppose if you increase ranking and don't have any skill. when playing a real game you'll get your ass kicked .
Still sounds like we could be waiting awhile for these games. I do not see how they could be close too submitting them.
That is interesting, Not too change the subject but congrats. I see you get too beta test Plushed. That is great.
Yeah, thats what I was thinkin. Who knows when they will finally be done with Eliminate. I however, see nothing wrong with this, as it just means Eliminate will be that much better at release. Tho, even I am gettin a bit anxious to try it out, and I am a pretty patient guy.
Quote from ngmoco Twitter Oct.2 "Eliminate hasn't been submitted yet. We're testing our first release candidate right now. Expect a few revisions before final" that has to mean it'll be submitted in a week or so
Candidates are version they think are ready to ship until they find something they don't like and change it. Then another candidate is built. They will probably need up to 5-6 candidates as there are always things you find that could possibly need some changes. The problem is you CANNOT create a game you are 100% confident with. It's not realistic. They haven't been updating their progression status a while now AGAIN after admitting officially they haven't been open enough OOHH WELL. I believe it still could takes WEEKS until submission. I hoped for a release date in the first week of October but it seems more like END of October or even November now
Patience. They never said they were going to release in the beginning of October. They're working hard on finalizing the game, but game development takes a lot of time and work. Relax; they're working as fast as they can. The fact that they haven't even told us how much the game will cost and how much energy you get per charge should be a great indication that the game isn't ready to be released yet.
Yeah, I'm taking that as a sign for a more distant release too! I wasn't expecting them to release it that early, it's just that they haven't been communicating well enough about those countdowns and then before they ran out they said on their webpage and twitter all of a sudden. Prepare for a release soon and that they were finalizing it. To most people that doesn't mean it still will take another month, so I was just getting excited. I will have to wait and I will since I believe it will be an AWESOME game when it's out and I'm sure they are working REALLY hard. It's all OK, all I expect them to do next time is not to confuse people too much and be more open. If only they would have said that it's not gonna be out by the time the countdown runs out, it would save me and other a ton of time. All I'm saying is, next time please just give us some indication of how long it will actually by being more open. Nobody will ever be mad if you said between 2-3 weeks and then added another week for polishing and unexpected difficulties to it. They are professionals and I believe they know exactly if it's 1 week or still 3 to go.
i'm kind of annoyed with ngmoco about the whole release thing.they say they will realease it soon and carry on saying they are putting on the finishing touches on it and yet months later nothing new has happened.they have a website with countdown and the last oen is in the app store and guess what. they are now putting on finishing touches.haven't you done that already for the past ages? i like polish but they should stop bilding false hype if they know there just gonna put it on hold for a while.
They're not really "putting on finishing touches", they're more likely working of fixing bugs right now. You don't want to buy a game that crashes all the time, so it is best that they work on making sure the game runs right. Remember, Ngmoco doesn't make any money from threatening to release a game. If you think you want the game to be released, imagine how they feel about it.
