Dual stick shooters have been around a long time outside of the iPhone, but I believe Dropship was the first iPhone game to adopt the control scheme. Wolfenstein was the first FPS game to use it. MCS significantly refined the controls beyond what Wolfenstein 3D used, replaced the right stick with more of a swiping motion that allowed for a good deal more precise aiming. Again, good controls, but not the most original thing in the world like you're hyping it to be I won't miss it. I'm only hear while we wait for the game - once it comes out, I'll be too busy playing the game to care at all about this old thread Interesting - well I'll have to take your word for it. Pretty cool that they managed to pull it off, because it didn't look like it would work! Nobody was thinking it was out, just that it was rejected or delayed. Turned out the name was just changed for no real reason, and Ngmoco had nothing to do with it. Basically, nothing changed since you were last here, Apple still has the game.
@kmacleod it's good that you are now acknowledging other games before eliminate! Makes you sound less of a fanboy
Not trying to sound like a fanboy at all regarding the controls. I'll admit right now that I'm absolutely a fan of ngmoco's work and of Eliminate, but that isn't going to cloud my judgement when examining games from a historical perspective. I'm a realist Also, I like Gameloft! I've been a fan of them ever since playing Block Breaker on my old Sony cellphone. While I have problems with their quality control issues, framerate issues, and lack of meaningful updates, I play and enjoy many of their iPhone games. I don't know; I'd much rather be playing the game than recycling the same old conversations while we wait...
I meant the anticipitation, not the thread. You don't recycle conversations when you're just waiting, unless you're in a thread. Read and respond correctly please. ^_^
Yeah I get what you're saying. My point still stands - I'd rather be playing the game than waiting for it Waiting was fine back when the game wasn't done yet and every extra day without the game meant that the game would be that much better, but now that it is finished and in Apple's hands, I'm ready to play
Interesting; I've never heard of that game, I'll have to check it out Yeah it is, but I don't blame Apple too much. I'm just hoping they can get done with whatever it is they still have to do
How can we celebrate 6000 posts? You guys still interested in a quick gameplay video? Admittedly, we all want to play the game and not watch another video, but there's only so we can do while we wait. What do you think?
Yea I want eliminate to be as bug-free as possible without taking a little too long. Still annoying to wait lol. I'll probably use the armor that focuses on speed. I'm just all for speed .
Yes, yes, and yes! I think everybody here would be happy for something new, even if it's just a taste.
Something else to celebrate is this thread now has 162,497 views.. more than any other upcoming game thread and only behind Zenonia, iMafia and Minigore games threads.
Would love to show all weapons, but unfortunately we're locked down and not messing with anything until apple approval. We have some footage of some level 1-3 action. We'll try to get it cut up for you sometime in the first half of tomorrow!
