I hope they know what they're doing and I also hope that "Food" can be earned in-game by doing some activities. If TP: D turns out to have a mandatory pay-for-food-to-keep-your-dog-happy system, I'm pretty sure a lot of people will be pissed.
Relax, there is no way ngmoco is going to be stupid enough to have a mandatory tax to play a single player game. They'd alienate their entire fanbase immediately if they tried that. I'm expecting that the food thing will be reserved for multiplayer or online activities, and I think it'll turn out that people are overreacting.
Pissed is right. Such an unethical move from such a respectable company. I honestly expected more of ngmoco.
cindy Maybe they were just beta testing them until the free in app purchase was announced? Although they probably alreafy knew about that..... ah well it means all the weird people who compulsively pay for mafua wars reward points will buy it. now approve them apple please
what kind of dogs you talkin bout? i got 2 little ones, there pretty sexy. does ngmoco have dogs tooo?
I have also lost a lot of respect from them. I won't be buying from them again unless they change their ways.
I bet eliminate pro is still the free version of eliminate but they just called it "pro" so people dont think its a lite version.
Yeah that's probably the right assumption. Free always scares people away since most free games are lite. That's why plus versions have plus+ in their ne to jutify the free price. I've seen and mentioned the pro in their name since the logos name in their image folder was called something like eliminate_pro. The pro version might be the one for the 3GS with advanced settings. But I'm sure there will be only one version. So the pro is for all.
the only way for this game to 'work' is that people that pick the game can play it in 2 ways: 1) you DL and you're able to play some games and not spend any money; and you can play as many games as you want. 2) you DL the game, and then you DL in game content such as more guns, longer life and you play the game in a more serious route... NOW MY SOLUTION FOR THIS: there are diff rooms or lobbies that 'committed' players and 'casual' players can play from. that way you're not stuck in a room full of peeps that payed 30$ for all the upgrades and you die in 2 seconds; alternatively, the other room won't let in 'pro' players so the newbies can get used to playing, AND IF THEY SO DECIDE, can buy more upgrades to expand their game play...
Ngmoco did try to pull off some 'stupid acts' in the past that are only prevented due to fan backlash! Remember how they tried to pull out Rolando 1 to make room for Rolando 2? I think ngmoco as a company keeps on testing the waters and it's up to the community to keep them in place because to be fair they do listen but if they can get away with it I think they will!
I've looked through the awards and there are some nice ones. Most are for number of kills and the level achieved. 450pts for #1 in global ranking. And 250pts for top 10.
Eliminate Pro & HarborHavoc3D This is pretty exciting! The awards for Eliminate Pro seem quite tough. I guess that this is another way to encourage people to play a whole lot. The anticipation is growing so much. I just want to jump and get fragged just for the experience of it! Note: HarborHavoc3D (from Backflip Studios) on cocomoco's plus+ profile has the button "Buy now" yet it does not work. Preview at http://bit.ly/3vwyFs
