Damn. I really can't wait for this game to be out. Goddamn you Apple. Why does it seriously take over 12 days (so far) to approve an App you saw 5 months ago and and app that is just ONLINE. It should take a maximum of 2 days! All you need to do is test it with 4 people to make sure it works fine. Not that hard.... And I know people say it doesn't matter who publishes the app, well in this case it does. It's ngmoco, a huge publisher! Just approve. It's not like they are adding anything dumb in the app. And why the hell don't you hire more members on your approval team? 41? Should be 441. We'd see apps approved in less then 2 days! Lol. Sorry for that little rant. Just a bit upset that it's actually taking this long to approve. I predicted LAST Mon./Tues. It's been over a week, tomororw it'll be 2 weeks!
I don't. I'm generally very impressed with the length of Apple's approval process, and I think people are getting way too upset about a relatively minor wait.
Not true! It's the time it usually takes (or less) to approve 95% of the Apps. So Eliminate belongs to the 5% that take longer...Apple tells us so!
Thank you! It's always nice to hear from you! It's a good thing you care about the Community here I would still love to see some more gameplay...but if that's too much work nvm...
Dude that was a statistic made by Apple themselves if I remember correctly. Most statistics are false anyways. I have been following Iphone gaming for a very long time, and trust me it does take, on average, at least two weeks to be approved, not to mention that fact that it could have been rejected. You never know.
I guess I'm impressed too given what they have to work with, but with success of app sales they should have a much larger team working on approvals. A few weeks isn't long, but why not make it shorter?
They could, I agree. But seriously, two weeks isn't bad at all. There isn't a whole lot further they could go. Maybe with a larger team, they could cut the time in half. But again, half of two weeks is only a week, which means that they'd really only be cutting a week off the release period. A week isn't much, and there really wouldn't be a whole lot of justification for the increased cost to them. There are more important parts of the approval process that they should work on, such as censorship issues. Time isn't really a big deal for me.
Could have sworn I saw a post about 30 minutes ago saying it was released in New Zeland. Was this a joke( since I know it's supposed to come out in Canada first , or was it deleted by a mod?
I never said it was fact, and besides Minigore devs went three weeks without hearing word about Minigore updates being rejected I was jus saying, you have to expect the best but be ready for the worst.
I believe Apple should offer a faster service for larger developers who submit apps and updates on a regular basis.. Those developers should be given the option to enter a premium service (say for an additional fee of 200-1000USD). That will get those companies somebody who will take care of the whole approval process in order to bring their approval times down to 1-3 days or so. Many large companies would pay for that I believe. Sometimes updates are critical. It seems fair to offer the same sort of treatment for everybody big or small but it's just the way it works almost anywhere... I'm not try to blame Apple for anything... I think they really need to take that time and they get orders just like everybody else and are just trying to do their job. Nothing more or less. But I think they can improve the service. We are complaining here about not being able to play a "GAME" but honestly for companies this seems like a big problem. I'm sure ngmoco and others are not happy about waiting weeks/months for their app to get approved. They need to pay bills and need to make money asap. Even worse if your app gets rejected after a month of waiting and you are forced to resubmit it again... For smaller companies specializing in iPhone development it's a horror scenario and I'm sure they are left alone there. ngmoco is forced to do what Apple tells them as it's their only market. I'm sure ngmoco would love to pay some 1000 USD or so in order to be able to deliver updates and games more instantly.
I know... I also believe Apple wants them to do well since they invited them to all of their events so far... maybe they are just trying to make sure it's a bug-free and well-rounded experience since they expect this game to be very successful and wide-spread... This game was advertised through them maybe they are feeling like they need to make sure everything goes well. Their reputation is in this too! I've told lots of people about this game and some told me that they would even consider getting an iPhone or iTouch just for Eliminate. I think Apple knows that this could attract some nice attention and that only if everything works as expected.
You have some very good points bro. I have also gotten people to purchase an idevice just for this game. It is gonna be HUGE!! I am as equally excited as everyone else, even though I dont post in this thread everyday, trust me.
