I hope this long approval time is not a bad sign and it gets rejected cause of "any" reason. That would be the super worst case...
You tell 'em Kmacleod. Anyways, haven't been on for a day or two. Anything of importance happen? I last read around where Allen released the fan kit.
I don't recall reading anywhere that Earthworm Jim was submitted two day ago. Proof? Gameloft and EA do not get special treatment during the approval process according to big developers, small developers, and Apple themselves. You have any proof to the contrary? Even if Earthworm Jim was approved in two days (which it was almost certainly not), that doesn't have any impact on Eliminate. They're two different games, they go through two different approval processes. Apple doesn't process apps in a strictly linear fassion.
Nothing since then. People are starting to get impatient, but I don't think we have much further to wait. It is around 14 days today, so we can hope to see something later
Wow kmacleod is ripping you guys a new one haha. I gotta tell you he makes more sense then a lot of people here on TA.
Or here something from the dev's, telling us it's been rejected Anyway we will be hearing something if all things go as they should.
Thanks Apple and Ngmoco are both companies I have a good deal of respect for, so I don't like seeing either of them blamed for things that aren't their fault, or aren't even true. They've both done things to legitimately warrant complaint, but this whole app submission and approval saga isn't one of them If it was rejected, we may not learn the reason why, because I believe there is an NDA in place on rejection letters. Still, hopefully Ngmoco would at least tell us that it was rejected. With that in mind, I don't think it has been yet. I don't know. It probably does, but it might not. Remember, 14 days is a vague estimate based on an average of other apps. It isn't a due date. Also, we don't even know for sure when Ngmoco submitted the game. We're reasonably sure it was at least 13 days ago
In the appstore you can set the date you want to see your product released. So gameloft said two days ago that earthworm would be available the 21st of october. But it was not submitted two days ago, it was accepted! It means that gameloft submitted eathworm jim a while back and we don't know the date. And by the way no application has ever been approved in two days...
It could've been in submission for at least 2 weeks. Just because they announce it 2 days before doesn't mean it has a 2 day approval process.
Scarecrow actually came close. That might have been 3 days, initially. They didn't even realize it was released, and they hadn't even prepared the website yet Well I understand what you're saying, and I think that if the release periods were ridiculously long, I'd agree that Apple is doing something wrong. The fact is that approval periods are actually ridiculously short for the vast majority of applications. Most people seem to be treating this situation like two weeks is an eternity, and the point I'm trying to make is, two weeks is a breeze compared to every other channel in the history of software distribution. In my opinion, approval and release time is something Apple should be applauded over, not criticized for. Thats all I'm trying to say
