i dont want to be afk anymore cause 5 credits for dying and then 200 for killing... @zxelman haha ya i just noticed how much credits you get in a kill
I'm sure they do have some sort of special treatment, but not during the approval process. They do get to show up at Apple's media and developer events, which has to be good for publicity.
That's good. You'll improve at a slower rate than the guys who are good at the app but you're improving
Got an amazing question for you kmac what happens if you enter a match and then the game crashes or you have to leave, what happens to the energy you spent?
Exactly! Nobody wants to spend money buying an energy pack, only to enter a match and earn no credits
The energy goes away since it acts as an entry fee, but I think you earn any credits you got up until the crash. It crashed on me quite a bit at the community day, but I think the launch version will be a good deal better
my guess: EA... having all those game titles which will attracts people to buy it... and some even don't care how much that app going to cost. Which means... when Apple getting 30% (or something like that) from each purchase... that means Apple can earn a lot more... compare with like ngmoco, having free or lower cost ones...
Probably the same thing. If you sign out in the middle of a match, you lose the energy but earn the credits. That prevents sore losers from just quitting mid game and throwing off the scores.
Good question. I usually ask questions like this 1st if I'm talking about an online multiplayer app. What happens if you simply just quit the game?
Except that isn't how it works. According to big developers, small developers, and Apple, there is absolutely no favoritism in the approval process.
I'd guess that depends on how you did up until the match quit. If you got 9 kills and zero deaths, and just got disconnected at the last minute, then your energy/kill ratio would be really high, and it would probably raise your apparent skill in the matchmaking process. If you got disconnected right when you joined and earned only the bare minimum of credits, it would probably lower your skill in the matchmaking process. Keep in mind, ranks in this game are doled out depending on your total credits earned. You can't lose a rank after you get one.
I REALLY hope it doesn't crash on my old itouch 1g. Is there anyway of improving my ipod's speed in apps besides reseting and freeing up space?
Alright cool - hopefully constant disconnects aren't going to be a problem, so this won't come up to often
