how come when i try to make a new account, I am not able to change my country to Canada, and it just says United States in bold print without a drop-down menu?

yeah, it seems like apple is recognizing that i have a US ip address

 

The problem I'm having is with payment options; there's visa, mastercard, and something that looks like a note. Is that some other credit card, or 'money'?

 

if you just try to dl a free app, one of the payment options will be "none" but then after that you may not be able to change your country (that is the problem i am having)

 

So which option do I choose?

whichever credit card you have, or if you don't have one, try to dl a free app and click none as payment option

 

Go download a free app while not signed in!!! Then press create account and choose no payment

 

look, go to a free app, press get app, then it'll take you through the same procedures but for payment options there should be a "none" option

I just set one up - you have to be sure to change the store to the Canadian one, but after that, follow the above instructions.

 

have you managed to create a canadian account. I did this step, but then I cannot change my country?

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait like the rest of us non-canadians

EDIT: nvm, I just got it: you have to change the country at the bottom of the itunes page!
