I'm pissed that it was only the 8 mb version out in the aussie store. I thought it was the real finished game. ah well.
What's the point? It's a preview build that is probably very buggy and definitely not complete. Sure, it'll get updated for free, but it's only half the game it should be.
You could probably get that one now I guess.. and just delete it and download the full build when it comes out next year.
I've been following this thread (and a long time lurker of this forum too! It's a bit sad when someone mentioned about post counts = post legibility T_T ) since it was announced and needless to say I was very excited when I thought the retail version was released I've bought (by mistake of course xD) the preview build and I think it's amazing even if there's no sound and other stuffs. Here's hoping that the retail version will be released soon. And I wish Paul all the best!
Which is $4.99 American dollars. Hmm, maybe we should get this later tonight (if it doesn't get pulled) to kill our CJS craving for the time-being. Hopefully Apple or Tag or whoever's mistake it was will realize that it is the 0.1 preview build and will have this whole problem sorted out by this week.
You'd think after a mistake like this, they'd update something, whether it be here, myspace, or their twitter feed.
To be fair, it is Sunday morning. They could be sleeping in, going to church, out to breakfast with their family, playing ultimate frisbee or who knows what else. It's obvious this isn't intentional, and it's not like there's some kind of SMS alert you can set up on your phone for when your early beta you uploaded to iTunes Connect to test the waters with the approval process suddenly goes up for sale. Cut them some slack, I know you guys are excited for this game, but it's not like there's any shortage of great games to play on the App Store in the meantime!
Except for the fact it's about 6 p.m. in the UK right now....not everyone lives on the west coast . And you can link your email to your iPhone (kinda the whole point of having one) so you would get the approval email as soon as it was sent (push being one of the main features of 2.0). So there isn't really an excuse as to why Paul hasn't explained this yet. Honestly, this whole situation is quite amateur. I could forgive the one time human error of the 0.1 build being released, but not a second. Fool me one time, shame on me, fool me two times, shame on you... Why does that build still even exist in iTunes connect? You would think they would have deleted it the first time around...seeing as it completely useless as a base for approval as the finished game clearly has more elements in it. This is the definition of unprofessional and mishandled. I think TAG needs some better management...the only positive we can take away from this is the 1.0 build could possibly be approved...but I'm not going to get my hopes up...(take this post with a grain of salt, this is just on a customer basis, nothing personal against TAG or anyone in particular.)
Dude! Things like this just happen. Apple should catch these things. It's not like apps are a new concept for them. Why would anyone at apple actually release another copy of .1? Why blame Paul? I can wait for this game because I have this thing on the side....a life. When I get CJS....it will be great! Until then, I won't rip people that I don't know a new one without any information. By the way, for some of you....please don't post in this thread bashing CJS or Paul. I would prefer to keep TAG active on these forums, and I am more than a little annoyed with some of you. Just sayin'....
how much of the game is in those 8 megabytes? I wonder how apple let this slide. Wouldn't that count as a demo?
Things like this don't happen though, that is the whole point. Name one example where something even remotely similar has happened in the past. Apple clearly doesn't pay very much attention to apps it releases (Baby shaking app) so that argument doesn't hold any weight. And the 0.1 wouldn't have been re-released unless it was in iTunes Connect. If they had just deleted it after the first mishap, none of this would be happening right now. Also...I usually have quite a busy life outside of Toucharcade...semester is ending though and all I have left is to take finals...not much else to do . And as I said before, it is nothing personal against TAG or Paul, and I'm certainly not "bashing" anyone, I think CJS will be great once released for real...just trying to be objective from a customer viewpoint (any reasonable person could agree on).
