New 'n' Tasty is a graphically updated version of the original Abe's Oddyssee (I hope I misspelt that right). That's definitely an exciting prospect! Though, much as I loved the original, I still think Stranger is at the top of the heap of Oddworld games.
I'd agree that stranger is the best but man, it sure would be an insta download if the HD of Abe gets released.
I'm really enjoying this one. Game is incredible. Very well done. From controls to performance it's running great on my 6 It's this game destroying everyone else's battery???
I've managed to find my own "sweet spot" on my iPad Air after a fair bit of trial and error after picking this up earlier this evening. Brilliant port, playable with touch but looking forward to using my Steelseries Stratus XL that's under the Christmas tree from my wife! My preference is to have a lower resolution so that there can be more visual effects enabled. I've found that it's the 1st person view that takes the hit as I can get a super smooth 3rd person setting but when switching to 1st person it's unplayable and I can't shoot. These settings are smooth in 3rd and 1st person view. Feel free to try them out on your own iPad Air guys. Also the reason why the iPhones can run smoother at higher visual settings is because they're pushing less pixels and smaller screens/native resolution.
^That's similar to the default settings on the ipad air. Low reso, and everything bumped up to max or close.
The default setting has the resolution pretty much down to zero which is just too blurry, and the effects of everything else at full made it too choppy in places. It's a little odd that the Air can't run it smoother at a slightly higher resolution with other effects on full, especially when you see what some other titles are doing in terms of visuals. Still, I'm happy with my settings. The game is great.
This goes down as one of the best games I've played on a iOS device. The list is getting long but this goes down with some of the greats. I think the last game that caught me by surprise like this was bastion. Anyway get this guys. It's truly special.
Couldn't agree more. An excellent game but also an extremely very well done port. Bit of a benchmark on how a port can be done well to iOS. And the game is such a whole lot of fun that I'm constantly impressed by it.
@Madmonstor: could you eventually have a look into MFI controller sensitivity settings? It doesn't make much of a difference if i have the slider all the way up or down and therefore even the lowest setting is still a bit too "nervous" for me.
Damn. I think I'm at the end and a big round machine breaks through the wall. After I kill it the game freezes everytime. I can't finish the game. Anyone have any idea what to do??
Dev said this is a known bug that was fixed a week or so ago but not out in an update yet..you can either wait for fix or request a save gave file from dev that puts you in game right after killing orb..cheers.
iCloud Sync with Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath Can anyone please help me do this? I think I have successfully uploaded a save on to iCloud (I now have a blue iCloud icon on one of the game saves) on my iPhone 6. How do I now continue that game on my iPad? Many thanks for your reply, -a newbie
You will have to start a new game on your iPad and play until you get the option to pause at the top left of the screen. From there you can load your iCloud save.
