Not a bad idea. I assume you're referring to Bytebrain's post (#275). I'll try that out. Thanks a lot!
I noticed a huge difference between high and low resolution. To me it's very blurry on the lowest setting, and looks the way it should on the highest setting. But it runs really choppy set to high res. Still, for a game of this caliber at such an extremely low price, I can deal with a little compromise
Further into the game now, I must admit that it's not always "butter smooth". with the settings I described earlier in this thread. I've experimented further with the settings, and will post an optimal setting when I feel I've reached a good compromise between performance and visual fidelity.
I suggest we post screenshots of our settings. I'll post mine later today, but it basically is: Resolution: 1/4 View Distance: 3/4 Decorations: 1/5 Anisotropic: 3/4 Shadows: Most Post FX: Some Reflections: Yes iPad Mini Retina I feel it's a good compromise between visuals and framerate. My main problem now are the controls though. I think the game plays better on iPhone than on iPad (I was playing on my mother's 4S and the game ran surprisingly well), so I think I'll wait for the Android version so I can play on my phone. Hopefully the Galaxy S4 can handle the game well.
Woah, I just reached a level where you have to race against the clock. I think I could be here for some time. It took three attempts, frantically running around in circles just trying to figure out where I was meant to be going.
Oh no! That sounds really scary. I've been playing reeeeeallly slowly, trying to hang back and pick off enemies from afar. A timed mission sounds brutal.
So this is not reaaaally a complaint, but Spoiler Meagly McGraw's pet just stood there and did nothing while I finished him off with just my Zappflies and Stingbees.
You will find a lot of buttons like this from now on. Just stand in front of them and press X, you don't shoot them.
Two things that could improve this game immensely: 1) actually restrict the punching in first-person aim mode to tapping the left side of the screen. Often this activates when I'm trying to shoot, which is pretty frustrating. 2) for weapons like the bee with automatic firing, allow the aim to move by tapping and dragging around the fire button, like they do in the modern combat games. This would make run-and-gun much more of an option.
First impressions after playing last night, this game is excellent.. I have no issues with the controls whatsoever.. Graphics are good, would be better if I didn't have to lower the resolution to 1/4 but I'm not complaining.. Awesome port overall.. Hope more games like these come to iOS
