I would even love to see Munch's Odyssey on iOS but i guess Microsoft still owns the rights of this IP. It was a launchgame for Xbox and i was very excited to get my hands on the first 3D Abe but sadly they decided to rotate the camera with the D-pad instead of the right joystick. This made the more difficult jump&run passages very very frustrating. It was a bit of a disappointment compared to the two previous platformer on PSX. Time to make it up with a new version Anyway, bring somebody please just an Abe title to iOS.
I've just run into another issue. Whenever I walk about halfway into this room the game crashes. It's just a fairly simple room with a few ammo crates, but it crashes every time, even if I'm just walking through without doing anything. I've tried reloading the game save, rebooting my iPad and all the usual stuff but I can't progress beyond this point. @madmonstor, is this a problem that you are aware of?
Never seen that. Can you send us the save game. Go to the load game screen and keep tapping on the save game with the issue until you get an email popup. Fill in the email with details on device etc and press send. Thanks a bunch!
Okay, I have sent an email with the game save, explaining the issue. I sent the auto save file but it happens with my manual save too. There's just something about that room that causes the game to crash whenever I try to walk through it.
With all the praise we have been giving this game, im surprised others are still on the fence about getting this.
And they have already replied to my email saying that they have confirmed the issue and hope to have a fix out in the next update. Great service.
Hi CandyKiller, We have a workaround for you. 1 - Load the save game with issue. 2 - Once the game is loaded, go to the Pause Menu and Select Load 3 - Select the same save then select Load 4 - Once reloaded, you should be able to make it through the problematic section. Let us know if this works for you. We are looking into a permanent fix as well.
Expedited fix was submitted to Apple last Thursday. Update should be imminent. In the meantime as a workaround just save & reload your game.
Btw, am I missing something with the Chippunks? They worked during the tutorial, but not really much since. I see the blinking green circle on the map around them, but rarely do enemies ever go to them. And when they do, it takes a really long time. Am I doing something wrong?
Finally decided to pick this up. I'm at the wagon section right after you leave the bounty store for the first time. Seems pretty good so far. The touch controls are about as good as you can expect. Now I really want an MFI controller... So could someone that's running this on an iPad mini retina tell me exactly what settings I should adjust to get the best visuals while maintaining a really smooth framerate? Thanks in advance.
IIRC the mini 2 is the same as the Air 1, I think there was a post a few pages back with the recommended settings for the Air 1, not sure if that could work. BTW: I think we should create a huge post about the graphic configurations recommended for each device.
