No this is much more a shooter. You can capture enemies which nets you a higher bounty than killing them. That would be the similarity. This doesn't have the rpg qualities Monster Hunter has. Your ammo is actually living which to me was what was so utterly unique and genius when I played it on my Xbox that It has since held a special place in my heart. This game is both brilliant and gorgeous and I'm so thrilled to see a port.
Hmm, I have a serious glitch with the Spoiler Battle for Last Legs chapter. I'm getting this ultra-white glare in the outside areas where a lot of sky is showing. At times it almost fills the entire screen, making it impossible to see what is going on. I've tried rebooting but it still happens in these areas every time.
Fixed and submitted last Thursday but still pending expedited Apple review Update should be imminent. You should still be able to make it through. Caused by over-blown snow effects which only occur in outdoor areas in this level.
Glad I jumped on this, great game! Having fun so far. My only complaint is that it definitely needs some optimization. I'm on iPad Air and have the resolution a sliver over 50% and view distance at 100%. Everything else is completely off. Otherwise the game gets jittery and lags, which is a bummer coz I'd like to enjoy it as it's meant to be. Anyone on iPad Air care to share their optimal settings?
Just received my Stratus XL from steelseries and I'm really happy with it thus far. The quality of the controller is amazing and it feels really solid in hand. Everything works and without any kind of lag. It's lile playing Stranger's Wrath on a console all over again I love that the hud is exactly the same as I remember it from the console version!
You're the dev right,I purchased this game on my 5s today and I would like to say it's an incredible port runs smooth, controls great, price is a steal, thanks.
I'm still dithering about this one ! Has anyone played it on an iphone 4s ? I know its meant to work like that but i would like to hear from someone whos tried it on a 4s first
I tried on an iPhone 4S and performance is surprisingly decent. In fact, that's what disappointed the most, because the performance was not all that different from my Mini retina, which means it's well optimized for lower end devices but not to mini retina.
TA app is crashing everytime i try to attach a photo so i'll just try explain it. LOL What im rolling with on the ipad air: Resolution: At half, or a little less than half (about 2 to 3 pixel movements to the left) View Distance: 2/3 up Decorators: 1/5 Anisotropy: Just a little below max. I never tried it at max, it might work too. Shadows: Some Post FX: Some Refelctions: Yes There are rare times when im in first person view and the Zappfly is animating its electricity, and there are some sort of dust/particles floating around the area, while im hiding in bush and the framerate drops a little, what i do is drop the decorators slider down further.
It's actually because the phones have a lower max resolution which means the engine has more pixels to draw on the ipads. Think of the resolution slider as a % slider if you want numbers, in which case getting the ipad resolution to max is significantly a lot higher than getting an iphone6 resolution to max. Or in your case, the ipad mini max resolution to the 4S max resolution. That's how i understand it's implemented in Strangers Wrath.
Yes, me on a JB iOS 7.1.2. Check my posts to see the gfx settings I use, but it's mainly mid settings for everything. Runs quite smooth IMO, and fully playable.
I think you can put every thing to max if you drop the resolution down to iphone's resolution. It plays smoothly at max on my 5s,no reason why it can't do so on ipad air.Though the final image quality might not be as good.
It's already running at more than 200% higher resolution on native settings than it does on ps3,Even at half the resolution it's still 60% higher than that of ps3(720p),you can't really expect it to be better than that.
But I'm not running at half the resolution. I set the resolution to something roughly comparable to Vita's native resolution. I'll probably just wait for the Android version so I can play this on my phone and the low resolution isn't as jarring as it is on my iPad.
Actually, that's almost like the ipad air's default settings. Very low resolution, with everything maxed out. I like how i see a lot more detail in Stranger's poncho with the higher resolution, and sharper visuals in everything. Coz of screen size, the iphone resolution on an ipad just looks muddy. And like i said on a previous post, it's about the max resolution of the devices where the ipad air's max resolution is way higher than an iphone 5s. It lags at max on the ipad air coz there is way more pixels to be drawn by the engine where it wasnt designed to handle that much on the ipad hardware.
