I had a weird problem start last night that has persisted to this morning. Maybe somebody can help me. The problem is that when I enter a promo code in the "Code" field in the iTunes App on my iPhone, the "Redeem" button doesn't do anything. The little working icon in the upper left hand corner spins for about a second, but then...nothing. It's like I didn't enter a code at all. Nothing that I've done has fixed the problem. I can't delete the app. I've restarted my phone about a dozen times. I've tried several different codes. I've even tried codes that I know have already been redeemed just so I can get the message that the code has already been redeemed. I've signed out of iTunes and logged back in. I've tried on my home wi-fi, on 3G and have tried again this morning in my office. Still nothing. Last night while I was having the problem at home, I started iTunes on my home desktop and was able to redeem a code without any problem. I was then able to download the app to my iPhone via the iTunes App on my phone. I have even purchased and played games (Zombie Smash FTW!) on my phone during this issue. I'm stumped. Has anybody else ever had this problem? Any other suggestions? It's like my phone is pissed off at me for using so many codes or something. I thought maybe it was an iTunes problem and it would go away, but it has still persisted this morning, so now it has me searching for a resolution. Thanks. Edit: I wanted to add some other details. I'm on a 3GS. It's not jailbroken has never been jailbroken. I'm fully up to date with version 3.1.3.
Same exact problem and it started this morning. I have also tried this on my 2g 3.1.3 non JB with the same problem.
Also the same problem here. Redeeming with Itunes on my pc works but not from my iphone. Maybe this is a temporary glitch in apple's system, maybe it has something to do with upgrading the appstore for the Ipad ? Greetings, Soxbrother
I'm just glad I'm not the only one. I'm happy it's not just an issue with my device. And, I'm sure it will get sorted out soon enough. It's just a hassle now. Hopefully I don't miss out on any games in the meantime.
Have you tried Googling it? Usually if you're having an iTunes problem, at least 50 other people are having the same problem lol That's weird though, I think I used a promo last night without a problem.
I tried last night. The only thing that came up was an issue from last July that was resolved. Nothing more recent. Now, I'm guessing the only thing that will pop up is this thread.
Lol yea probably, but maybe not since the title won't match someone's search criteria. Try contacting Apple I guess, they're usually pretty good at responding within 1-2 days. Probably best to do it before the weekend is here.
I'm lazy. The farthest I will go is to create a thread here to bitch about it. Now that I know I'm not the only one with the problem, I'm confident that it's not just my device. I'll simply wait impatiently for the problem to go away.
Lol yea, that's what I usually do..Try creating a new iTunes account if you're bored and see if you get any results.
I haven't seen this, but since 3.1.3 I'll get "could not purchase" when buying an app, then after trying to download it twice the "buy" button goes shaded and no longer works... Goes away after a while, or if I browse a few other games (I'm guessing the page gets unloaded from memory...)
I can still purchase and update games directly on the ipod touch, I just can't use promo codes on it. I was able to last night but not today.
I'm having the same problem and google just lead me to here. I can add that the problem persists in iTunes itself so it's not a phone issue.
