I'm on an iPad Air 2 and the game lags like crazy even after disabling transparency. Don't these things get tested out before releasing a game? I mean honestly. And yes, I've been playing mobile games long enough to make sure to restart device and close ALL apps before launching and that does not help.

And the controls are infuriating. "It's better with a controller" is the reply. Are you serious?! Why release on touch devices to begin with then?

I really hate being a dick about it but it's getting frustrating to buy games that haven't been optimized for the devices and they're just shoehorned without ensuring at least decent playability. Specially a game I was really looking forward to enjoying ever since I saw the hilarious trailers.

I am sorry you had a bad experience. What levels were you having problems with lag? What version of iOS are you using? There was an issue at launch with the boat level that I apologize for it was completely my fault that the rain effect got put back in and wasn't tested enough on iPad Air 2, but that has been fixed. I do not get any drops below 30fps on my iPad Air 2 on iOS 9, and we are adding a Battery Saver setting to clamp to 30fps for all iOS devices as mobile users seem to want an option to prefer battery life / cooler devices over 60fps. Closing other apps will not increase the performance, but it will prevent the game from crashing on memory limited devices (iPad 2/iPhone 4S/iPad Mini 1).

Sorry you did not enjoy the controls, I personally think the touch controls are more fun than a controller and actually make some parts easier. Some parts are more difficult as the game was originally made for a controller so I do say that a controller is the "best" way to play, especially if you're interested in speedrunning, but we spent a lot of time on the touch controls and tested a lot of different configurations to find something we were proud of. It was also originally designed for a mouse too, and I think touch controls are much better than mouse. If you're using an Apple TV remote then I definitely do recommend a gamepad instead, that IS shoehorned and it was rushed to be out at launch but we are working to improve it in the future.

Totally agree and feel exactly the same. The touch controls have a certain rhythm and "personal" feel about them and I actually far prefer them over playing with a controller. Well done.

It's amazing and I really want to slap the piss out of people complaining that a game about an undercover octopus has bad controls. THAT'S THE POINT!
