I havn't seen anyone complain about price regarding this game, just a couple people (including myself) who are disappointed with gameplay length.
I paid 60 for a game that lasted 5 hours (finishing it on one sitting). Actually, that happened more than once, or twice, or thrice, .... 10$ for 10 hours seems pretty good to me, and even more on iOS.
I actually prefer that the game isn't some 60 hour adventure so I'm glad it is what it is. Yes I'd like to get max bang for buck but realistically, I don't have time. I think 10 hours is a good amount of playtime considering single player campaigns for recent games are all under that. Sandbox doesn't count.
This is exactly how I feel. I want to go through the GTA games on iOS (I bought them all) because I have never played any GTA game older than GTA4. I just don't have that much time to put in to them so I just ignore the games because I know I won't get through them. 10 hours is even a lot for me but I think I can get through that.
Sorry off topic for a second: I must admit an epic game like GTA you should give it a go though ! I'm quite happy doing one or two missions and then saving it and coming back to it in a week or so and take my time with it. GTA is a classic, people will be talking about these games in 50 years time. To be able to play this on your iphone, just wow. One great thing i love about iOS is the variety, some games are a quick play on the bus, others are more epic (Aralon/Ravensword) etc. Most games i like to take my time with, appreciate the graphics, try different things, explore etc. I dont get these people who buy a game and then 4 hours later say they've finished it, just take your time and enjoy it.
I really have to agree with you there. I enjoy games that I can become fully submerged within, and the GTA series has always been fantastic for just that, and this is actually seemingly amplified with the convenience of being able to play them anywhere on my iPod. Chinatown Wars in particular, I feel, is a game that takes some creativity to really get the full experience out of (Finding out tricks such as launching yourself great distances by driving sideways on a motorcycle into a petrol station's gas tanks, shotgunning dumpsters into gang-heavy streets to create barricades before stirring up gang gunfights, driving off of rock-ramps to hit and explode flying helicopters during police chases on the beach, etc.) I actually enjoyed CTW the most out of any mobile GTA for the vast amount of entertainment that can be drawn from the game, given a little commitment to not playing the game with a linear mindset (Which the GTA series has always been great at allowing). That being said, I feel as though Oceanhorn will most likely provide approximately ten hours of straightforward gameplay. However, I don't doubt that there will be many more hours' worth of entertainment that can be found within it, given just a little imagination. To complain about the ten-hour length at this point is to announce your lack of dedication to the game before it even sees the light of day.
I've NEVER seen a company be so vague about a friggin release date. I'm sure I'll enjoy the game and all but as far as marketing 101 it's one of the dumbest and oddest things I've seen a company do.
You forgot KOTOR that dropped into App Store out of nowhere. Over-hyping game before release can be dangerous as people will usually expect impossible things for game.Dropping it out of blue sky makes review sites hurry and fight among each other for fastest review and whole Internet talking about game that eventually builds huge release sale momentum.
2 is an important number, and I guarantee it'll be a Thursday release. That kind of discounts the 14th, and leaves the 21st and 28th. My guess is with the 21st (as well), or at least I'm hoping it's that rather than the 28th I enjoy rewarding devs who've put quality time and effort into a game - and this seems to be one of those games.
Considering Zelda ALBW comes out on the 3DS on the 22nd you'd think they'd want to get it out next week at the latest. Any later and it's competing with people's time on a true Zelda experience...which is not a great idea.
True but they didn't release a bunch of lame hints for a release date. A game showing up out of nowhere is much better than teasing release dates after the game has already been delayed.
It's coming this month. Just tune out of this thread and it will "just show up out of nowhere". The hints were done in good jest, this is really not worth getting worked up over.
