I bought it when it came out, and still haven't played it. I keep saying "today is the day". I always buy / download way too many games. Too many games, never enough time.

Just a little hint here: You always have enough time ...if you are in such a hurry that you blame the controls you are doing something wrong. There is a strategy here and you should think about "preparing the lane" from above (where the timer switch is located)

I am so stuck, that I even looked for a walkthrough
    (http://www.gamezebo.com/games/oceanhorn-monster-uncharted-seas/walkthrough-cheats-strategy-guide)

but it doesn't give me the answer.. if you did something the other way.

I am in the Ice area where I can get my Running Boots.
I am at the spot in the Frozen Palace where I used a fire spell on the dude who ran away.

Then I used my firespell on the 2 crates, so I got a chest with a key..
NOW.... I didn't use it on the door in that same room.
Instead I used it in the room to the left, where I am in the area where I get another key when I am at the frozen spot... but I can't jump..
Any clue what to do, since I didn't take the correct door??
    Thank you

    edit: nvm.... passed....

Frustrated, I've spent countless hours getting all the bloodstones. I've collected 54 which has been known to get the crimson collector achievement, however nothing shows up. I've gotten all the bloodstones added in the update, still nothing

Got bored with it very fast. Same repetitive gameplay. Great for kids I'd think but for me it's wasted money. Its cute but just not enough depth to hold my interest. Basically nothing to do but the same thing over and over again.

@worldcitizen1919: Are you the guy who hated GTA San Andreas and who thinks Candy Crush Saga is excellent? Just want to add this as orientation, no offense ;) How long did you play Oceanhorn ? (and how far?)

Your hint was just too vague, so what I ended up doing is switching to using a stick-on joystick, which offered infinitely better control than my clumsy fingers and
holding down the button while the animation was playing, thus giving my character a head start on the running and/or jumping when the animation finished, as well as using the "roll" function of the boots to move faster too
. Without the additional boost from these things, I would've never eventually made it.
And what a disappointment to find I only had two rooms to explore on the other side, then had to come right back!!
    Grrr!

It was by far the most irritating thing in this game, even more irritating than my first boss battle
"death by 1000 paper cuts" style
. I only have the final boss battle left to do now. From what I read, that is equally irritating, so we'll see how it goes for me. Any bets as to who will die first? :p

@dclose: Maybe we'll do some FAQ videos.
As for the first boss: Congratulations on beating it! It doesn't matter how you play a game or experience an adventure - I like it when people have different approaches.

BTW: my recommended first boss strategy is:

    - buy arrow refills item in the Tikarel shop so you have double the amount of arrows at your disposal
    - Beat 3 arms, then go up the stairs and shoot the 4th arm from upstairs
    - with that much distance you can easily fire arrows into Turmos mouth.

Besides, upstairs is a lot of refill stuff in the pots

That would be nice, as I hated having to check out some walkthroughs simply to be able to complete a puzzle when I knew the steps I needed to do, but the method I was using wasn't working. Something inbetween vague hint and total walkthrough would be greatly appreciated!

I should mention that despite this, I thoroughly enjoy this game and am very happy I own it! I'm also equally happy to see it hasn't been made too difficult for lesser players to actually stand a chance of completing. At 19 hours of play time, I am 89% complete. I am currently avoiding the final boss fight and am attempting to get 100% completion on the other islands first. I want to be crushed in style! :D

LOL, that strategy assumes you actually can shoot the arrows! I never mastered them. Even now I still manage to shoot about five times the number needed before any actually hit their target. I just suck at both arrow shooting and bomb throwing. For some reason my fingers just don't "get" the two handed approach.

Stupid question. The item button. Is it just to bring up your inventory? It's a pain in the ass

You use it to swap between special items, like your shield and something else. So you can use your shield OR you can hold a bomb OR you can hold a bow, but you can't do all three at the same time. Use the item button to swap between them.

This definitely isn't the experience I had. In my opinion the game is full of depth and changing environments.. Creating vast gameplay.

I really enjoy this game. It was quite easy to get into at the start, which is very quite a plus, as I get board with some adventure games quite quickly. The lack of a jump button is strange, but it makes the puzzles much more interesting. I just got the first emblem (earth). Where should I go from there?

Here's my two cents. I hated Zelda and the whole series. So I played this with clean eyes. Controls and graphics are sweet. I actually dig the levels as they are not too big but the design is laid out so that you can redo an area fast. There is no ridiculous traveling lengths like Zelda. So far a great surprise and it's simple enough to get a breather from republique and colossatron

I'm not sure how you can hate Zelda but enjoy this. I appreciate Oceanhorn is it's own game, but the gameplay elements are so similar. This isn't a diss at Oceanhorn btw, I purchased it recently, and am really enjoying it.

Can't reach chest outside Gillman's cave on Tikarel

I have messed up a bit with this chest so I really hope that some developer reads this and can help me find a solution or at least look into it before the next update. I think it's a bug that needs to be fixed.

So there is this chest outside Gillman's cave on Tikarel which can only be reached by using a wooden crate and pushing it off the cliffs. Now I have done that once and pushed it off the cliff wrong (ended up by the wall) so I couldn't push it into the right position once it was on the ground. I thought that it will respawn and I'll have another go with it. But since then that area is screwed for me because I can't seem to push the crate any more and when I try to go around it I end up standing in the air halfway between the cliff and the ground.

Also there was the stone crate by the entrance of the cave which I managed to push in the water between the two cliffs so now that exit is blocked too so even if I would get to the chest I couldn't get out of there. Has anyone encountered this problem? Could an update fix this? Also I have heard of 'resetting the game' but what do they mean by that? I don't dare to delete and reinstall the game because I am afraid I'd lose all my achievements and progress.

This is the bug I'm talking about. I'm not falling there but standing still. In the air. :)
