@smegly: It's a combination of 1. and me not bothering replying to people that dish out personal attacks on the internet, when I can help it. Because that's a waste of time for everyone. Why am I still here? To see how others are doing in the game, read dev posts that are in between, and see if there are any changes incoming. My last post about the game was me linking a picture of a glitch I found, and how to reproduce it. For a dev I'm sure that's actually useful info, and I didn't ruin anyone's fun posting it I assume. My review was called a mini-review for a reason; go read it and you see why, as I explain it there. I don't want bicker like this to take up more space than it already has.
But you do. That's why you're here. You know it, I know it, everything you've done here supports it. Stop lying about it.

1. Is there an option to use virtual analog stick/buttons? On iPhone? 2. How many save files? More than one?
Just before you enter the place jump over to the square that's in the water then onto the land beyond it, use a bomb on the wall and take the stairs up for the chest
1. Yes, you can enable a virtual analog stick; the action buttons are always visible. It also supports left handed mode in both control schemes. 2. Two savefiles.
I respect your opinion even though I don't really share it. I'm interested to know if you still rate this game at 3 out 5 after extended play ? Personally the more I played the more I rated this game and I'm wondering if you have reevaluated after extensive play or if your judgement remains the same... Just out of genuine interest. I'm not trying to sway you or say you should like it more. On a personal note I'm at 80% and I'm trying to clear as much as I can before I defeat Oceanhorn. This is one of the few games on IOS that I feel compelled to complete to 100% (or as near as I can get as I'm not the greatest gamer !) Someone earlier said it felt to be a third of a proper Zelda game. I'm inclined to agree but it's still one of the most complex and compelling games on IOS which is a compliment to Nintendo as nothing on this platform comes close to the real deal. Having said that this is an awesome achievement on IOS.
A few questions, where can I find the boots?...fire spell?...where??...I'm stuck because I can't jump and I can't melt stuff because of the missing spell...any answer would be really appreciated!!!!!!!Some light!!!...someone!...I'm already passed total 14,5 hours.....
I'm still holding onto that rating so far, yeah. The gameplay mechanics continue to bother me, but I do plan on sitting down and playing through it completely. The reason is that so many people enjoy it, and that compels me to challenge my own opinions of it. The following is some explanation for some of my feedback; it's not overly negative, but if you enjoy the game you might just want to skip reading it Spoiler I think that a part of why I find these elements (combat and level design) much more problematic than most might be because I've played top down Zelda games so much they're ingrained deep in my muscle memory. It's not that combat must be identical to Zelda, but when you give me a sword and shield I expect to be able to observe and block based on enemy movement, and see when a goblin blocks back. That makes sense. Here they block with no forewarning (instant) and likewise can attack instantly without any tactical feedback. I've also done enough sliding puzzles for a lifetime, and I've grown to dread those even in Zelda games; they are neither challenging nor interesting
I'm sorry to say I've barely played over an hour of the game since release. I just found myself wondering aimlessly around and island without being able to find a way to anything or knowing what I'm suppose to be doing. I've seen my quests yet it doesn't shed much light on the situation and I hate exploring and wondering about lost so I just haven't been back to it....is it worth trying to do it again?
148apps review is spot on. One if the better reviews I've read.I bought it because of the hype, played it, put it down and never felt the urge to ever pick it up again. It's only got graphics and sound but no real narrative that draws the player in and the controls and gameplay suck no end. I gave it one star because I paid a premium price for an overhyped game that does not deliver. For me its all about gameplay and story not just nice graphics and sound and this game falls flat when it comes to gameplay and rich narrative. It does have its fanboys who won't tolerate a bad word said about it but in the real world its nothing special and dismally fails on many fronts. I found I just couldn't feel compelled to play it. Just lacked finesse. Why should I play it? There's nothing to make me want to go back to it. It just lacks that pull like many games. I respect others views but for me this game has no magic and I don't really know what to do with it delete it or wait a few months until I feel like playing it again.
A question to someone who has completed the story... Spoiler If I was to visit the Arcadia Ruins will it trigger the battle with Oceanhorn and lock me in until I defeat the boss, or am I free to leave and try the final battle later? I'm curious to go there to have a look but if I'm going to be locked into the final battle I'll probably clear up a few more things on the other islands first.
You can go on the island and not start the battle. I did the battle, and took back the last save and it was recorded before the battle. So there should not be any problem, bug excepted. Enjoy, and if you manage to finish it 100%, let us know!
Don't go in the dungeon on the island and you should be fine. I triggered the end battle, died, and was allowed to leave. Felt like a bug though because restarting the game actually goes right into the battle, but dying allowed me to leave?
