I've searched high and low, lined bombs up against every wall, searched neighboring islands and I still can't see the Cavern of Fire, where is it, I'm starting to think that it's not in my version of the game....
For fear of going too far off topic, I have to agree with you on this. I mean, as a somewhat "older" gamer (relatively speaking; I consider 27 to be young) I look around me on forums and the kids of relatives in real life, and I get this sense of "everything, all the time, right now". Does that description make any sense? It's as if there's this culture growing of not being able to wait for anything, not even your own brain to kick into action. I don't mean to offend, but it's kind of the same thing as with Twitter and Facebook comments; while there are a lot of excemptions to this pattern, there's an exceeding amount of "thought dumping" going on. Typing before you think, as it were. I might just be channeling grumpy old men right now, but this culture change kind of worries me.
I managed to get to the main island of riptide reef without the jump ability and the first time i was able to get there. i even got the sword before i did the fireworks quest, because i thought that i had to go there first.
On the topic of everyone asking for help everywhere- I have begun to realise this as well, and although I have needed some help in some areas (looking at you Mr weathervane), the game isn't that hard. After pages of disagreeing with Galenmereth we both agree on something- people aren't thinking that much in this game. Maybe it's the culture change, but I tend to think it's the game itself- it starts out with a simple 'push the big block one space into the one hole' to progress, and people see that as the overall difficulty of the puzzles in the game. Once they come to something that is slightly harder, or involves different things to proceed, their brain subconsciously thinks 'this is new stuff, I am not experienced in this area' so people ask on the forum. I understand that everyone thinks differently, but some people are getting stuck in simple situations and ask 'help! I just got a bow and arrow, and now I don't know what to do!' While standing next to an archery target. Or just saw fireworks and ask what to do, even though the LITERALLY just unlocked two islands. FYI guys, if text is blue, it means it's important, like an island, and will be labelled on your map. Maybe if people had a little bit more patience and checked the world map for any unexplored areas, or saw the honey man and thought 'oh! this looks like something that requires me to actually think about what I do!' People wouldn't stumble around blindly. Not trying to be rude, but people should greet a challenge.
All iPad mini r a waste! i have an iPad 3gen but its still amazin! Id never buy a mini no point... iPad 3, 4 an Air all have an 9.7 inch screen an Retina display! But i still recommend iPad 4... Cause iPad Air ur payin extra money for an you get all the same on iPad 3 & 4, iPad mini was made to Compete with Nexus 7.. Price wise... But ur better off goin bigger its like a tv... Get the better one.. I mean cause like my ipad for games an web browsing an everything.. Where my iPhone is the phone an use the web browser if i rlly need to.. An jus hotspot my phone to my ipad an i have internet... But you wont b sorry with an ipad air either.. Jus ipad mini is a lower version of an iPad... Either way you look at it an honestly i dont believe the A6x chip an A7x chip with 2x more performance mayb like a sec faster but whats a sec is it worth tht extra $100
Agree 100%. I really feel the same way, and am totally stunned at times by how fast modern gamers give up and yell for help. I just smirk to myself and imagine them playing some of the tough games we had in the 80's with no internet or forum to whine on, no saving their game and wow they would actually have to read the game manuals..
Love this. An hour in but so far my only suggestions would be to slow down on the endlessly respawning enemies (pretty irritating) and to make sailing a bit more eventful (maybe introduce a more manual mechanic where you can control the boat and encounter secret islands/enemies? I like the friendly boat encounters). Oh and a little more controls explanation would be nice
How do I get off of riptide reef? I've got the sword and now realised I can't get back to my boat and don't have the jump ability
I'm seriously stuck here, not just being impatient. I can't progress in the story untill I have the Fire spell which is in the Cavern of Fire which I don't know where is it, and I don't have the Trencher Boots either which I don't know where they are, please help me here, and don't get all pissed off because people need help.
Just really careful swimming from beach to beach, I guess. Pretty much whatever you did to get in there in the first place.
Yeah I've tried but I never have enough time before drowning, I think maybe there was a bridge of some sort that allowed to cross that isn't there any more for some reason, I can't see any way of getting back Edit: I somehow managed to get myself into the sea by swinging my sword and It glitched me close enough to land :S don't know what happened but whatever it's okay now
I might be getting the two mixed up, but seeming as you are looking for both of them- use a regular key on the lock in gillfolks drop to get to cavern of fire, and if you go further back in gillfolks drop there is an old fish guy that tells you a story about cavern of fire. Fairly sure he gives you a key to the lock I mentioned above. Anyway, after getting the fire spell, go back to where the old guy was and go left towards the water/river. Swim in it and at the end should be some ice crystals blocking your path which need to be melted with the fire spell.
Agreed. Haha, except now I am eating a big helping of humble pie because I haven't been able to locate the weathervane for a few hours either. However, i did take the portunity to revist other islands and open chests that were previousl unavailable, and in the process unlocked another island.
Sorry I understand but I still don't know where the enterance to the cavern of fire is, and I don't have the trencher boots so I can't do jumping puzzles
I believe the entrance or path to get to the entrance is from within the Gilfolk cavern...you are given a key i think, to which you use to lower a bunch of the block pillars that are surrounding a ladder. Take that ladder and follow that path and the entrance should be evident? I am doing this by my none too reliable memory so forgive me if i am mistaken, but pretty sure the entrance isnt any crazy secret and does not require jumping (you dont even get jumping until after the fire cavern)
Nothing, you will unlock that at a later date. You fall down from some where and land atop that platform.
