After every run you will be able to buy one or more meta upgrades. These really make a difference and you feel it on your next run getting further each time. During runs you use your digger to get resources for your mech and digger. Then you upgrade during runs. Tons of upgrades and add ons for the Mech. Not sure how long it is but at this point I am having a good time. Well worth the price of admission. I love chasing those upgrades I just get addicted if the gameplay loop is good enough. It did seem costly for something completely unknown to me but I guess since you haven’t said anything then it must be working fine? anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,127 703 113 #8 anthony78, Aug 24, 2024 I can echo @elcrazy ‘s comments. Fun game and haven’t hit any bugs or other issues. It’s also on Steam if you want to check out reviews there (currently 86% positive with 219 reviews). https://store.steampowered.com/app/2845630/Codename_Ocean_Keeper/ ste86uk likes this. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 707 562 93 #9 elcrazy, Aug 24, 2024 Zero issues so far. Gameplay works great. You can switch graphics, low med high. You can also change the frame rate from 30-120. Menus are clear and easy. Upgrades menu is easy to use. Game runs smooth. Controls are great. Overall it’s a nice premium package that’s feels premium. Chasing the upgrades in this game is the best part. The gameplay loop is fun and engaging as you are also changing in game upgrades during each run. These will stack with your meta upgrades. It’s really done well. This feel like a true roguelite. Mainly want the pacing of upgrades be steady and meaningful. Can you earn enough currency each run to afford a few upgrades or will it be the type where eventually, you need to play a few rounds to afford one upgrade? That and not sure how repetitive the game will feel. I'm kinda at a point not sure about games with meta-upgrades to grind for anymore...but I used to love these types of games. Another game I was considering I think it's called Raiders where it seems like there's a few weapons to unlock (?) but it's a "skills" game. Kinda has me wondering if they're going to drop to free... Still on the fence..mostly due to potential amount of time it takes to grind through this game. Especially since I see some comments saying eventually their runs lasts more than 1 hour between the meta-upgrades. Yesterday, I redownloaded Nightmare Tower (an oldie) and really appreciate how quick each round lasts and how quickly players can keep upgrading. Ended up playing for like 3 hours straight. Kind of a mindless, grindy, leveling up game. The beginning is a bit of a grind but it's slowly getting better. At this stage, there seem to be enough things to upgrade and I haven't hit any walls. I'll try not to play it too much so I won't burn out on the game as there doesn't seem to be too much variety at the moment. I do wish I can discover the different in game power ups more frequently. Especially for 0.99, it's a fun game. One thing that does concern me is there seems to be a "store" page. Almost feels like it's a place holder for potential in app purchase..but not sure. Nothing happens when I try clicking on the one time to get more in game currency..but I do have pi-hole (for ad blocking) running. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
