The goal is to get the white line (the city hight line) under the red line (the hot zone line). Score is calculated by how far the building pieces move from their original starting location, and then again from how far they move from where they rest. For example, if you knock a building across the screen, and then somehow get it back to where it started, your score is calculated as if you knocked it across the screen twice. You can also get bonuses: 1. When a building is knocked off screen you get a bonus 2. You also get a bump by how high you knock a building piece, the higher the better. Competition thrives off other peoples high scores, pushing the rest of the players. That's the whole point of leader boards in games. Why should I submit a score (and 'finalize' my entry) to a secret contest if my score could potentially not even matter, since I don't know how high my score needs to be, when there's still time to improve it.
