Ok, so I was hanging out with my little brother in law and his friends whom I am like 8-10 years older than the other day, and they are all into this shit called "Shuffling". They show me all these YouTube vids of people doing these different styles of "Shuffling" (Which frankly, all look the same, I'll get to that later). And I am sitting there feeling 2 things: feeling very old, and feeling even older. So is this "Shuffling" like... Urban River Dancing or something? I see no point really beyond a good work out, but then again I don't like dancing or anything much either. I am getting old, and this stuff just makes me laugh. But these kids were walking around saying "Oh our crew is hardstyle" "Oh no, I am more Jerk Style with my moves" "No man, you h ave more of a jump style to your steps". And I am sitting there thinking "OMG... I AM OLDDDDDD". These h ave been the rantings of Booch138.
Kids taping up their pants, wearing hoodies in obscene heat and shuffling around like morons is stupid. You know what else was stupid? Roller disco, parachute pants, hightop hair and about a million other rediculous trends over the decades. You shouldn't look at this in amazement and feel old, the kids into this sort of thing will be deeply embarrassed that they were part of it once they're old enough to gain some introspection. I suggest hunting down a little movie called Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo because that's how stupid and dated this'll look in 20 years.
Trust me, I do not look at this in amazement. I look at this and laugh hysterically. I do, however, feel old still. LOL
I dont know wth is going on these videos but shuffle does look cool. Jumpstyle looks like these kids are trying to beat an invisible guy or something
Jumpstyle is the only one that doesn't look like the rest, and I'll admit it's interesting what some of these kids can do. But Jesus Christ is looks so damn goofy LOL
By "amazement" I mean amazed that anything this stupid could exist. Maybe if they keep it up long enough Ice-T will show up at their big shuffle show and they'll get enough donations to save the youth center!
In essence, it pretty much all looks generally the same to me. Yeah there are subtle differences, but in all honesty, it just looks like River Dancing. haahahahaha Though to be fair, the CWalk was popular way before this shuffle shit started.
Have you heard Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO? Before this summer, people weren't really into shuffling here in Houston. Since the song topped the iTunes charts two months ago (it's still on top), the style has grow extremely popular. People used to be a lot more into c-walking and jerking, which have their differences from shuffling. But yeah, the type you'll see most these days are teens stomping aggressively on the floor in tune with electronica/disco jams. Not a fan. Prefer c-walking by far.
That seems to be the most popular one around here. As I said before, I am new to this stuff, and have little to no interest in it beyond this thread. I just wanted to see if it was popular everywhere or what. Thanks everyone for posting. It's been amusing that's for sure.
Yeah, that's like the laziest interpretation of breakdancing I've ever seen, it's all footsies like they don't want to dirty up their pants. Somebody needs to bust it old school and pull a 360!
Kids are constantly searching for new ways to look like total f***ing idiots. This will never change.
Yeah, what a bunch of idiots. They should be inside all day incessantly barfing text into any form field that will allow it.
