This is a sign of things to come for the entire APAC region and represents a destabilization of the area. Whether you're in the US or elsewhere, this has major economic implications if this escalates. With a number of unstable regions already in play along with terrorism fears, the last thing anyone needs is a South Korea/North Korea conflict.

Damn. I don't know much about the conflict or politics over there, but I think it's probably about time that someone put North Korea in their place (but obviously we don't want a nuclear war). Kim Jong il is one crazy son of a bitch.

The US has to worry about getting dragged into this. North Korea supposedly has weapons capability to reach other American allies such as Japan, and it's been rumored that they could hit Hawaii or even the West Coast if they're intent on doing so.

Doesn't sound good :/ North Korea is one of few countries (Korea) that have nukes right? I hope they don't make things worse than they already are. North and South are never in good terms..

I'm living in Dalian, China (a city a few hundred kilometers from the North Korean border, in Liaoning Provence) right now as my parents are working here. When I showed my Korean friends about this they literally flipped out and cursed North Korea with every swear word in the Korean language. But seriously what North Korea is doing is nothing short of retarded, they are intentionally provoking the South and the world with these acts of aggression when everybody wants peace.

I do have to admit though, living this close to the conflict can be scary at times and having my Korean friends (which will all have to join the army before college) and their parents (who were in the South Korean Army at some point) telling me about their firsthand experiences with this conflict and their opinions is pretty damn scary and cool at the same time. I just hope this all gets resolved quickly.

Awww... f@ck Kim Jong-il and all his crazy staff - dictatorship has never been good - just remember Germany 70 years ago.

Of course is this a provocation, they want to make South Korea make a mistake and have a reason for a counterstrike.

And this a month before X-mas...

South Korea has already responded with 80 rounds of artillery and sent fighter jets.
By the sound of things, war is pretty inevitable (let's just hope it doesn't involve nuclear weapons).

    To lighten up the mood:

Well look on the bright side, South Korea only need 25 kills and they can end the war with a Tactical Nuke

I'm South Korean and things just gets better and better for South Korea -.- . First it was a controversy with the frickin' Taiwanese about the Guangzhou Olympics and now it's about ****in' North Korea. I just hope that if South Korea goes to war with North Korea that we get full support from Japan and USA.

PS - North Korea get ready to see what a K2 is the HARD way.

To nuke them would be the most stupid idea.
Yes, it would kill them instantly... but North Korea would die slowly.
Too dangerous for North Korea itself.

I never suggested nuking them. I said that I hope the conflict doesn't progress to nuclear warfare, although unlikely, it would most likely be triggered by Kim Jong il because he's insane.

Can we just eject the whole of North Korea into space already.
