Even though I'm already a tester, I'm still really excited to see the new changes in beta 2! Plus, the Discord server has pretty much been deserted for a while, so it'll be great to have some more people around there too. Also, do the testers get a changelog for this second beta?
Hey guys! Beta version 2 has been randomly selected and sent out... sorry if you didn't make it in! Honestly we usually get a few dozen testers requests and can let them all in... this time we got a few hundred - which is great, but I really wish we could let everyone in to test >_< Anyway, good news is we're on the home stretch now - hope to have an official release date very soon!
So for those of us not quite lucky enough to get in... Could you let us know what's new in this beta?
Mostly tons more polish, bug fixes, tweaked a bunch of gameplay stuff (made movement faster - your character defaults to a jog, for example), simplified some of the way you do things on the overworld map, added some new rewards, still working on making the tutorial as straight forward as possible, which is a major challenge in a game with so much stuff going on. From beta to release we'll be finishing up all the polish, working on final balance tweaks, and adding the last details to the overall gunplay and the nitty gritty weapon balance. Honestly, we're really close to being done... I think we'll probably be able to announce a release date very soon!
In reference to gun play, could I perhaps point you back to your own game, NY Zombies 2? It had pretty good balancing as far as I can tell: the uzi more suited fo faster zombies and the .50 Cal for a straight line of Z's. It's a part of what made the game fun in my opinion!
I know that you guys are basically finished with the game, however it would be cool to see you guys add in the "Iron brigade" or atleast their uniforms. Game looks great, keep up the good work!
I'm not familiar with the real Iron Brigade, but fun fact - the game was originally going to be called: "Iron Shield Brigade" Good news is you won't have to wait much longer - narrowing down the release date as we speak! Hope to announce in the next 1-2 weeks! Here's a few new screens as well, some fighting on the beach, wearing some medium class armor, and fighting alongside some heavy armored 'Rifle Knights' on the daytime screenshot.
Oh my gosh, you guys have absolutely nailed the lighting effects and metallic textures this time around. Looking forward to seeing it in action!
