Reminds me of Space Miner. Could very well be the first real hit from Apple Arcade of the year. sakara214ever Well-Known Member May 10, 2012 1,262 168 63 #4 sakara214ever, Jan 10, 2020 Iphone X latest ios stuck on loading screen. It looks fantastic. I’m trying to get myself into digital hand drawing since I gift myself with iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and Procreate combo for Christmas, so seeing such great work is quite an inspiration for me. Apple Arcade is picking up the pace with some quality titles lately and that’s all that matters. Rocksaint likes this. sakara214ever Well-Known Member May 10, 2012 1,262 168 63 #8 sakara214ever, Jan 10, 2020 Last edited: Jan 10, 2020 Yeah. And it gets even weirder. It does not play on iPad too. Something with my country i guess? I can not think of something else because i am not jailbroken Update The game does not open because both iPad and iPhone was set to my country language (Greek). Changing the language to English makes the game work properly. Will email the devs for a fix. orangecan Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2011 2,000 150 63 #9 orangecan, Jan 12, 2020 I’m on the iPad Pro next to latest iOS and it crashes for me immediately after the first tutorial about using the grappler. Comes back to the main screen but it’s unresponsive and unusable, it jerks and drops frame rate then crashes out. Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 666 367 63 #10 Rocksaint, Jan 12, 2020 Seems like Apple Arcade games are not tested well for performance and compatibility before release. Most of the games do have performance/optimisation issues, unless maybe playing on the latest devices. Maybe something for Apple to look into as they are looking to have even more subscribers this year. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #11 macplash, Jan 12, 2020 @Rocksaint Apple Arcade requires iOS 13 that is supported by the devices with 2GB+ RAM only so every game in its lineup is compatible and able to run on them (relatively) smoothly. This requirement eliminates a necessity to heavily optimize every game which may result in some issues we've witnessed since the launch of the subscription service. Some devices getting too hot, some games are crashing unless the device isn't rebooted first etc. There are occasions when default settings are set to extreme and needs to be lowered manually to solve the issues. Usually there are quick updates released after a couple of days if the problems are addressed. So you're right. But this should be discussed further in general thread rather than here - in specific game's thread. Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 666 367 63 #12 Rocksaint, Jan 12, 2020 Well most of the Apple Arcade games on my iPhone X with the latest FW heats up the device and drains substantial amount of battery if played beyond a certain period of time. Sadly, this game is no different. But yes, this is more of a general thing and not just specific to this game so should be discussed in the general thread. Peter321 Well-Known Member Dec 5, 2008 209 5 18 Male #13 Peter321, Jan 13, 2020 Switched to English language on my device to load the game (really disappointed by Apples QA on this, it's such a common bug in new releases) - but now that I've tried it, I must say it's actually pretty good. Gives me the same vibes as the classic "Space Miner Ore Bust" - which is definitely a good thing. Not too crazy about the graphics style, but the game play is actually quite good, although maybe a bit repetitive (each mission have you navigation through a number of areas, killing aliens along the way). Sad for the developers that they didn't test on other languages, as this game currently only have 1 star reviews in the Danish App Store. Wabe Member Jul 5, 2014 13 1 3 #14 Wabe, Jan 13, 2020 I'm only a short while in but I'm finding it a little odd that I usually don't get to see what I'm firing at. Things shoot at me from off the screen, I shoot back at them following the path of bullets util they stop. Then I move foward and there's nothing there (cos I blowed 'em up). squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,714 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #15 squarezero, Jan 13, 2020 Funny — I find that very satisfying . gmattergames Well-Known Member Mar 1, 2013 607 42 28 #16 gmattergames, Jan 13, 2020 Agreed, I’d say a third of my kills are off-screen. Seems would be easily remedied with auto-target-zoomout when enemy is offscreen. Otherwise, I’m still on the fence. There are so many good things going on with the game, I think it’s enjoyment is diminished by the tedium of navigating the cavern-like map. An issue that would be remedied by a warp-gate recall (town portal) consumable/upgrade. Perhaps it exists at later stages; unfortunately, I need it now before my patience wears to the point of no return. You will soon run into another “patron.” In the meantime, keep looking for domes (the green skulls in the star map) — completing the challenges inside advances the overall story.
