He was having coffee with you!? He cancelled on me, supposedly because he "overslept." That double-booking bastard! ;)

Hey guys, just got this game a few minutes ago...and i was wondering; how do you get the secret tape on the first level (the hangar course)? I can see it on top of some lights, but i cannot get up there! :(

    Any tips?

Isn't the secret tape in the hanger the one where you have to grind one of the helicopter blades to make the helicopter take off, then go into the new room outside that opens up when the helicopter crashes through it?

Correct what you see on the lights is just some cash... To get the hidden tape, do like they ^^^ said, grind the helo and after it takes off go to where the warehouse door opens into a new section of the level... You can't miss it then...

It had quite a few problems with the controls at the beginning (like hitting grap and bailing by accident), but after i got 100% with the first character and started again with a new one i realised that i got better A LOT and by now i don't have any problems at all and can pull off big combis without a hassle.

When you guys talk about that extra room in the first level, do you guys mean this room?

Because i don't see any secret tape there. :(

No, that's a completely different one. If you go into the second room with the helicopter in it, grind the blades. What you're grinding is the ariplane propeller. Once you grind the helicopter, it will take up. If you look to the left, there should be a wooden half of a quarter pipe with a platform on top with some barrels on that platform. Once you grind the chopper, it will open the door behind those barrels, where there's nothing but a QP with the secret tape on it.

For some of these guys, the correct term is not "played" but "inhabited," or "were obsessed with" the original version. Me, I've come to realize that all I played on my Mac was the demo, because a lot of what I've seen is unfamiliar. In a way, I'm glad, because I'd rather be discovering this game for the first time than taking it in as a nostalgia.

Oh God... I spent so many hours in Kindergarten/1st grade playing this one game. I pretty much ignored THPS1 and 3 (although they got a decent amount of playtime as well) just for this one. Until I got my Gamecube and played THPS4/THUG, this was my absolute favorite game.

So yeah, I know quite a bit about it.

That said, 2 things I'm having trouble remembering. The Venice Beach tape and stopping the fountain in Philly. Seeing as you guys already FC'd the game with at least 1 character, can anyone remind me how they were done?

Man, as an inexperienced Tony Hawk-er, I'm having a really hard time with some things. I can't get up to the tape in the school to save my life, and Philly is crazy hard with all its obstacles (though the bells and lip tricks were a snap).

But mostly I'm having a ton of fun! Ventura is just what my too-wussy-to-actually-skate self always dreamed of skating. ;)

My high school days were spent skipping school, partaking in illicit activities and playing the crap out of this game!!! I can't believe that everything came back to me as well as it did... I don't think I forgot anything, I even remembered where every piece of cash was..

But you should try and figure this stuff out on your own, that's what was so great about this game, was the exploring and learning the levels to the point of them being second nature... after you beat it once 100% you'll want to go back with every char and do it again! Plus you get more cheats too...

I wonder what happens when you 100% with everybody? Hopefully new levels... The PC version has area 51 and this version seems very similar to the pc one.. I hope I can unlock this level!!!!!!

I just listend to the original soundtrack again and that really brings back memories. The new one sucks big time.

Yeah, I'm hoping for the same thing as well. Skate Heaven is my favorite level in almost any THPS game.

Unfortunately, there's no cheats as of yet, and I can't find a way to hack saves like I can with some games, or transfer saves from the PC version. I'll try again in a bit, but as for now, nothing.

I know!!! At least make it so we can use our own playlists... I have almost all the original songs as is, except the hip hop one, but that shouldn't be too hard to find....

    @Somerandomdude, Keep us posted!!!!

Sheesh, you'd think that being a wealthy, larger than life, international celebrity, there would be enough Hawk to satisfy everybody without resorting to lying. That Tony is a shady dude, and don't even get me started on his brother Mike.

Ok, I may have crossed a line with that...

Brian, you are 1337 indeed. I think you've got a head start over everyone on this feat. Your experience growing up with THPS2 is just like mine, right down to the illicit activities. I keep playing through this game going "ohhhhhh yeeeaaaahhhhhh, I remember that!" and it's a ton o' fun. I'm anxious to hear what other unlockables still await.
