As someone who played previous versions, I'm having trouble adjusting to the controls so far. I like playing the game and consider it $10 well spent, but I haven't got a strong grasp on the controls... yet. To those who have been using "both" control methods... what do you have the accelerometer set at? Please explain your settings in detail if you wouldn't mind.
Yeah, I did mean the yellow text special moves. But it sounds like you're accidentally hitting the grab button. I'm the same way, conditioned to hold that ollie button down whenever possible Just try to keep your eye on where your fingers are, although that's near impossible if you're trying to pay attention to a combo you're doing. I think it might just be a concession of touch controls, and none of us are ever going to be as epic as we were back in the day.
Don't think that's true at all. It's a classic game that once ran on the best console of the day; it now runs on a mobile phone which wasn't even close to possible ten years ago.
Does anyone have an email adress of the department at Activision which made this game? I'd like to know if they're planning on adding the ability to listen to iPod music (and perhaps add online leaderbords, but let's start small with requests).
Well, I bought it. It has a pretty steep learning (unlearning?) curve if you didn't play the original but I'm working through it. Also, has anyone had problems with slow framerate/crashing? It happens to me pretty often and I got my iTouch for christmas of 2009 which means it's a 3rd gen right?
I'm surprised that most people are having trouble with the controls, grant it I'm not able to pull out the million point plus combos YET, I am able to get 400K+ on the hangar level and I'm sure I can hit a million sooner then later. I'm using the D-pad with no accelerometer controls, and so far it's worked out fine for me, and I was able to complete the career mode 100% without much frustration...
Guys, I have a question, Don't think it's been properly answered so far, but how do you do special tricks?! I looked in the menu that shows the combo, but for some reason I can't do them.. yes the special bar is full, it just won't let me do any. Help if you can! Thanks in advance!
Remember, every character has different specials, and some are grinds, some are flip, and some are even manuals and grabs.. I would recommend checking the special and trying the button combo on each move, also your special has to be flashing for it to work...
I've looked at each special, and my special bar is flashing, I just can't get it to work.. one of them is down, up, and i think flip.. but it's not working..
I actually just found out what has been happening: First I tried to find what combination of buttons gets me the Kickflip to Indy. I found out it's holding Up-Left, and pressing Flip. I was trying to think of why I kept doing that, and I just remembered: Yet another habit I'm conditioned to using is right after I input my flip trick while in the air, I automatically start pressing Up/Down Up/Down to do my manual. So basically, I'm not allowing enough time for the Kickflip to register before I start trying to do my manual again. I don't know if that's entirely my fault, though.. probably just another hurdle of virtual controls I'll get used to.
How can I do "The 900"? I did it once or twice but I dunno which buttons I pressed, The combination is Right, Down, but I don't know if I should Grab, Grind, Flip or Ollie ._.
It's definitely a Grab. Make sure you have enough air to pull it off, though. Don't try doing it during a manual or anything
