It goes by total cash earned, which you can find laying around, but the main way to earn cash is by completing the levels... I think you need 100% on everything to open the cheats menu, but I'm not sure... As for unlocking new levels you unlock those when you have earned enough cash, for the THPS 1 levels (Which cannot be played in career mode) you need to get gold on the competitions...
Buy it, you won't be sorry... This game may be 10 years old, but IMO it's still THE BEST Tony hawk game out of the entire franchise... If it was THPS1 or 3 I wouldn't have bought it, but TH2?! BUY IT!
I'm going to purchase it as soon as my WiFi is back up. Buy it, I loved it on my Dreamcast, and I'm going to love it on my iPod.!
Actually, I have THPS2 on the PC (which the iPhone version resembles most closely) and there was no Roswell level. In fact, once you beat the game, you unlock 2 other levels: Chopper Drop where you drop from a helicopter into a series of half-pipes, and Skate Heaven, which I really can't describe as anything other than 'The Space Level'.
On the 2nd level, one of the goals asks for me to grind 3 Holi rails? What does it say and what are these rails that I have to grind? Thanks.
Oh... the Rollcall rails... The first is that gigantic rail that's right in front of you when you start, and is right next to that gigantic drop. The second is in the back near the lockers and courtyard, on that slope next to the wall. Grind that long rail. And lastly, over near the two quarter pipes, there should be a kicker next to a set of stairs. Hit the kicker and grind down that rail. There you go. And agian, to manual, hit up then down, and for a nose manual, down then up.
You know you can find all the locations from the other consoles. Just search it up on YouTube (for ex. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 secret tape on school level dreamcast)
Nice I have to say that I am loving it! But something has to be done about that soundtrack! Just awful in my opinion. Why can't we at least load our own soundtrack up in there??? That would be nice...
Some more questions : Is it hard? I wasn't a very good skater on Skater Nation, and I fell a lot. Is it easy to control, and how often do you fall?
It can be hard, but with a walkthrough and YouTube it shouldn't be too bad... Anyways I just beat the final competition which will unlock the warehouse level from THPS1! I have 90% on all the levels, now I just need to collect the cash to get everything 100%...
The controls are really good if you ask me, and it's easy to control. I thought the controls on Skater Nation were kinda bad (mostly the joystick) but i did manage to finish that game. And when it comes to falling, that really depends on the user. As a person who played quite a few of this type of game, I don't fall too often. Getting familiar with the timing of tricks and turns helps out a lot, so the more you play the less you will fall. And as stated above, you can find a step-by-step walkthrough for this game, so if you get stuck somewhere, that could help you out.
Is this worth it if you didn't play the original THPS2 Hey guys, I've played the Tony Hawk series since i was a kid but i started after this game so, is this worth it without the nostalgia factor? I loved THPS4, THUG, THAW etc.
This is the best game in the series if you ask me. Tony Hawk went downhill after this game came out. Stop reading go buy it!
