Tobi, you know what would be super cool? Some kind of special unlockable content if you own both GoF Manticore Rising and GoF3 Manticore.... Maybe some exclusive levels, ships or weapons.
Absolutely. It would be great if we'd reward players of the former GOF games, be it GOF2 or Manticore RISING, in one way or another. But at this point I can't discuss this any further as I lack concrete information about it. Once I've learned more, I will fill you in.
I don't doubt it, my point was specifically that there doesn't seem to be enough behind the online requirement to make it seem worth it to people criticizing it. In this thread, mind you. I don't think the TA forum is representative of the market anymore. I don't care about online myself, I play at home anyway (and I did buy Sim City back then).
New dev blog In case anyone would like to learn a bit more about the conception, design and purpose of the galaxy map in Galaxy on Fire 3 - Manticore, here's the link to our latest dev blog. There, our art director Bleick shares some cool insights into the making of that asset. http://blog.dsfishlabs.com/en/gof3manticore-devblog11-galaxymap
Based on my own exerpience with the game as a player, I find the daily rewards quite generous. Collecting them helps to make significant progress.
Is this game also available for the Apple TV. I know about god manticore rising, but is this available?
This is actually not true at all. It used to be true, but there are now techniques to counter cheating without the online Internet connection requirement. CSR 2 doesn't require an always on connection and yet you cannot fool the timers. Believe me, I tried!
Graphics are too good ## The biggest (read:main) disappointment is no support for iPhone 5. Whilst I understand that is getting on a bit, it's still a shame that I won't get to try it. Still, I wish you every success and maybe in 5 years or so I'll upgrade
Hello, I allow myself to post here because I'm a huge fan of Galaxy on Fire 2. I have played hours on my iPad (got all DLC and bought the game on several devices) and it became for me the game that would prove that very serious gaming was possible on a tablet. I have told about this game to many people who all also enjoyed very much (some game concept even became privates jokes with my friends). To date, it is the best game ever released on iOS, period. Learning that a sequel was on its way was one of the best news for me recently. Then I played GoF3 Because I know what running a business as a video game company, I'm very respectful to FishLab for all the work they done. I will never give them any development or business lessons. I'm not qualified for this and I'm pretty sure they did everything to make sure the way the would go with the game would be the best for them. But this is clearly not the game I was expecting. Like many people here, what I enjoyed in GoF2 (freedom, exploration, diversity,...) is not in GoF3. I have nothing against F2P models, I just don't play these much (I play occasionally FO Shelter and Clash Royale and do enjoy them though) and I understand why every studio is following that trend. Coming from PC gaming, I do enjoy more premium model and it never have been a issue for me to pay dozens of $ is the game worth it. What I'm sure though is that a F2P model would not suite and open world space shooter like GoF2 was, so GoF3 would need to be another game if that the way FishLab wanted it. Also, always online is a deal breaker for me. Most of my GoF2 play time were in vacation, where no wifi available. Sorry, my friends at FishLab, I'm not going to judge the quality of your new game. But this is not a game for me. I will try one or two more mission and restart a campaign on GoF2. I hope you'll find success with GoF3 and will not worry much as there is plenty of other games out there that fit my tastes better. Warm regards, Wakwak
Is it playable on iPad3 (march 2012)? I'm asking because the game description says it support iPad3, but game requirements in NL appstore is much higher.
Spent about 1,5 hours, trying to register at Dutch Appstore. Finally done it. And failed to download because iPad 3 is not supported. Disappointed with desinformation at game description here at first post and at Dutch Appstore. Please fix it.
I don't know if the in-game downloaded update caused it, but it seems that the game got better. I am rank 9, so I've been playing for a while and it seems that you find informants and parts more often. I've also found a weapon that is very rewarding to play. In a fact, it is the only high risk high reward thing in this game which I like. It is a very long range, high damage, low rate of fire plasma weapon, I used the blue currency to get it without collecting any parts and it was worth it. I recommend giving this one another try. The main 3 missions are not that great, but the boss fights are interesting and challenging and you can play them more often now
Cheers, GR3NADE. Glad to hear that GOF3 grew on you and that you made some good progress already. Adding more mission variety is something our designers pursue with top priority at the moment. So hopefully the game will contain a lot more different missions when it goes live globally.
If you had to have a very, very wild stab at a release date, that I totally won't hold you to, when would you think? UK here, GoF 2 completionist, loved that game.
I'd like to know this as well. I'm in the US, and while I have sof launch accounts in Canada and New Zealand, I'm not going through the hassle of signing up for an Apple ID from the Dutch store. I was one who was critical of the game. Before my opinions are set in stone, I'd like to give the game a shot.
Sorry, guys... but no news regarding the worldwide release date. The only thing I can tell you is that we're making good progress and still aiming at a WW release this summer. In the meantime, I keep filling all those of you, who'd like to learn more about the game and its backstory, in on various aspects of Galaxy on Fire 3 - Manticore. A mere hour ago, our newest dev blog went live. It deals with the informants you have to take down in order to find out the locations and weaknesses of the so-called underbosses. Enjoy the read: http://blog.dsfishlabs.com/en/gof3manticore-devblog12-informants
Another patch, a lot of numbers changed (power rating, gold, everything) and no changelog... It would be nice if we got a pop-up saying what changed //EDIT: nevermind, that's what has just happened noticed the difficulty as well and I love the challenge! looking forward to controllers support
Huh. When you previously posted that this current state of game was the beginning of a long journey I assumed that to mean soft launch for a good long while and then release a even more feature heavy title 6 months to a year from now.
