Think I might wait for the next gen, I really like the Switch form factor and the idea of playing Skyrim on the go but I've been reading so many negatives last few days Skyrim would have to be amazing to convince me to buy. Some of the things I've seen mentioned are joypad desync issue (seems to be the main problem people are having) Lack of Bluetooth headphone support, I just bought a set of Bluetooth Sennheisser Urbanite Xl's a month or so ago. Really it's the most I've ever spent on headphones and I kind of want to use them. To me this is by far the biggest negative and hopefully something Nintendo fixes fast. also been reading the switch doesn't have the power to drive normal headphones so probably earbud style only, this just makes the Bluetooth thing worse imo. Still hope it does well and I'm still very interested to see SKYRIM reviews when they appear.
Dude when you are playing Zelda none of that other stuff matters. That game is mind insane, I mean I am so used to mobile games like on my phone or tablet that Zelda literally blows my mind. When Skyrim comes I can only imagine how that will be.
I would like to borrow my switch for the day to people who are on the fence, i agree botw alone would change their minds, i never believed the hype ever till I played
Right! I mean just holding this massive seeming handheld with actual buttons and a full blown AAA game is amazing. The first time holding it I was like holy crap its a lot different than my phone which is a 7 plus.
Haha omg cant even compare this to any other mobile device period. If someone told me i can get xbox 360 graphics or ps3 graphics on the go, id say noone is going to release anything with that type of processing power or graphical power, well not a noteworthy company anyway ( as nvidia shield isnt up to scratch) but i am blown away by the switch, i cant help but smile when holding it lol However there is one problem.....botw is waaaaaay too addictive!!
This Zelda kinda sets the bar for open world design. Honestly unless you are into the Elder Scroll lore itself, it's quite debatable who has a deeper one depending on individuals. Zelda itself has a pretty deep lore of its own too if you really go back back on the history of the series. This is exactly why they can even have their own encyclopedia just for Zelda itself which the latest print have not even included the stuffs from BOTW. Ok that aside cuz it's not the point. Game play wise, this game sets the bar extremely high. To a point people are comparing it to games like Skyrim and Witcher 3 and even asking who is better. If game really ain't that good no comparison of such would even be there. Not going to say which is better here cuz not quite a fair comparison in any form. They are quite a bit different in their own. But BOTW definitely wins in terms of the amount of details they had in the game from big ones up till really small ones. All I can say is this game does not lose out to Skyrim at least to me. In fact I find it far ahead of what Skyrim have done. Seriously reviews even thou with 10s everywhere still not enough to do justification to it. Even watching game play video is useless. People really need to play it themselves then will know how good it is. The details and openess in this game is just crazy. Everyone can have a different experience despite playing thru the same game. Due to how open it is. It's really hard for me to even use words to describe. It always just keep you amaze when you discover something. And yet when you think you already know it all, someone tell you likewise. Cuz they probably show you something you never even thought that's possible or can be done. This is really a master piece of a game
Agreed also I am wondering if playing it handheld has added some sort of immersion for me or added something personal to it. I would kill to have Skyrim or some Mass Effect on it though. I mean how long is this going to take though ughhhhh.
Oh without a doubt handheld fir me adds immersion, which is why im such a fan if handheld. Oh amenbrother i was thinking we should maybe start a thread on any scerets or cool recipes or anything to discover, obviously no spoilers though. As ive found out some really cool things, it be nice to have on ta dedicated to it, but if not there is a great forum on Nintendo life u might be intrested in.
I have a problem with my Switch. My eldest daughter (six) loves watching me play Zelda so much, she's told me I not allowed to play it when she's not around! I need to get another game to play when she's not watching... The game is pretty freaking awesome, though. Even watching someone play Zelda is mind-blowing. And I love the joycons.
There is a racing one I was kind of looking at and more are coming prety much every week this month. 3 indies are coming soon in a bundle too, us mobile gamers probably already played them but still. 1 of them is World of Goo.
Haha # thats funny, kids can be cute like that...i think snipperclips might be something she would enjoy plus you get a free demo
Maybe you can get Shovel Knights. That is a very good game. And Snipper Clip is surprisingly good too especially when playing with a Friend. It makes you laugh a lot. Maybe you can even have some fun wth your Daughter too
Yeah, very interested in Shovel Knight - looks like a great game. I've now promised my daughter we can play some Zelda before school some mornings. She's even more keen than I am!
Man I just really need some more games to come out for this thing, I mean they cant sit back and just think this will be good for a while. EDIT: Dang that Shovel Knight game just got a 9 out of 10 on IGN!
Don't get what you mean. It's been confirmed ages ago it is a full touch screen. In fact it is even stated in the spec sheet since the day it was officially announced. It has a 10 point multi touch display with capacitive touch which they finally got rid of that crappy resistive touch after so many years from their NDS > 3DS > Wii U game pad. It should also only be a matter of time before more casual gaming stuffs drop on it. Rayark already release VOEZ on the Switch which can only be played in Tablet mode Also the whole Switch operating system can be navigate using just the touch screen in case you wonder Here's VOEZ on Switch
Shovel Knight is not a new game. It was on all the consoles from PS4, Xbox One and Wii U. If I didn't remember wrongly it is also on the N3DS. Back when it was released, it was already one of those must have indie game with an avg of 8/10 to 10/10 across the board. Those who haven't played it should pick it up. Which is why I recommend it to the other touch buddy here earlier who was asking to recommend a 2nd game to play besides Zelda. I didn't get it cuz already had it on console and have already played a hell out of it previously. So not too keen to play again. I went with bomberman instead. I have been hesitating cuz it is really kinda an overpriced game for what it is. But I do love bomberman a lot as I grew up with it. Plus I really want something I can coop with a Friend. And besides snipper clip, bomberman is the next best choice atm. So I just pick it up earlier from my local store. Enjoying it so far, nice break away if wanna take a break from Zelda. But my opinion of it being overpriced have not change a bit. But never really regret cuz it is pretty fun. And definitely have a lot of replayability to it especially for the battle mode
Well we don't have a Switch but one of our kids has decided to buy BotW for Wii U, so I'll get to play it. Nice! But first I've got to finish Horizon: Zero Dawn. Can't do more then one open world game at the same time....
