Mario Kart is all kinds of fun. Been playing it with my kids all weekend. Being able to spend time with my teenagers is $60 well spent! I am really rusty though. I use to have to slow down to let them win when they were younger. Now I'm going all out and they're kicking my butt!
That kind of experience is priceless. Fun family time is essential I think. Something Nintendo has always excelled at. And no, not because their games are "kiddy" I'm 42 and I've been playing Ninty games since game & watch and I still love them. Mario Kart is awesome though. Mine finally arrived today, so Zelda has been removed from the cartridge slot for the first time since launch day. Even though I played it plenty on Wii U, I'm still loving it on Switch. There's enough new content and it's been a while since I played it so it all still feels very enjoyable. And with the Switch continuing and vastly improving on one of my favourite Wii U features, being able to play off-screen, I'm playing Mario Kart just now while the wife watches a chick flick. Happy days
Guys in mario kart is there an advantage to characters? And what about mixing diffrent vehicle parts?
At the vehicle selection screen, press the + button to see your carts stats. The game doesn't tell you that for some reason. As far as characters, they add weight so the larger they are the more weight is added to your cart.
Im not a big racer fan, and ive neva played mario kart before and i think its fkn amazing! Ive never wanted to race so much lol idk why either, but its totally worth it and so fun, also looks amazing in handheld or on tv And yes its easy to play but hard to master, as the mechanics to the game are simple but deep
Just backing up Alex. Mario Kart is ridiculously easy to play. My three-year-old daughter had a riot this afternoon against her six-year-old sister. Admittedly, the steering assist and auto-acceleration were both on, but she had a great time. There's plenty there for better players too, though. Learn the tracks' secrets, try the faster karts, go for time trials, take on human opponents at home or online - it's all there.
Thanks! I was torn and will likely consider it in the future. I'm still so preoccupied with BOTW and for the first time in my gaming life I'm not feeling the urge for the next game etc... with iOS the excuse was easy the price was low or on sale and I'll eventually get to play it etc... so far after BOTW I've not touched any other game and haven't craved to etc... I'm assuming this will wear off one day but for now I'll embrace it and enjoy BOTW!
I've only opened up three towers in BOTW allowing me to access their map (1) Great Plateau (2) Lake Tower (3) Dueling Peaks Tower and have decided to head to the first town mentioned by the Old Man after receiving the glider as I've been exploring and adventuring but feel that I need to get a bit more of the story, structure, etc... I'm absolutely blown away by the size of BOTW as just seeing these parts of the map shocked me as I didn't think this would was going to be this big! Even though I opened up the viewable areas from these theee towers I feel that I've only really explored the Great Plateau while the other two I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of their diverse environments! The one thing that is beginning to bother me is the nights. It's a bit annoying to have to deal with the spawned bats and skeleton creatures as it slows my exploration and sometimes I get lazy and climb a tree to let night pass. How do I start a fire as I believe if I do I can skip to daytime? BOTW gets better and better and is such an expansive world! 40 hours in and no end in sight which is awesome!!!!!
You need only two, actually three things to start a fire. 1. Wood, just chop down a tree 2. Flint, which you can buy or find commonly in the boulders you break 3. A weapon capable of creating a spark (or a flaming blade in which case you don't need flint) Just hold the wood and flint together in the inventory, drop them and give the pile a whack with your weapon. Then you can sit by the fire and pass time to morning, afternoon, whatever. You can also make use of the fire to cook raw meats and fish, just by dropping them into it. It's not as good as a full on cooked dish but sometimes it's a lifesaver. You can achieve the same by staying at any inn, or stables and so on. But remember, as annoying as night is sometimes, don't give up on it completely. Some things can only be found at night, so it's worth doing some nighttime snooping.
Just to backup trublu, The nights are awesome for different plants insects animal and also quests! A town at night for example will have other things going on. Also high stamina is great for running away from enemies, if u dont have much run till most of the staminas gone then take your finger off the run button and your stamina will shoot back up then run again and repeat as enemies will chase you! As you dont always have to face them it's your choice! But your powers at this point are more then a match for a whole group of enemies. Freeze them, stop time, stealth assualts from a safe distance, use explosives or your environment, im sure u have your own style. But the more quests u do the more powerful the weapons u will come across.
What I wouldn't do for a new Monster Hunter on Switch. Hell, even Pokémon. The most recent Pokémon I played was the Fire Red generation. And Monster Hunter... I guess there's the iOS one? Amazing how the Switch is a device to primarily play Nintendo flagship games and those aren't around.
I personally would like some horror games or darksiders 1 and 2 on the go...how devs cud have not taken notice of how good the switch is, it's selling like mad and its not even the best season to selk yet! We need aaa games like this, it doesnt matter if tey have been out for a while because the novelty of playing on the go wud defo sell more Nintendo switch consoles
Dude! The Switch is just two months old - the games are coming! Monster Hunter for Switch is practically a dead cert, by all accounts. As for Pokémon, it's a dead maybe. There's a school of thought that says we'll get Pokémon Stars, but I suspect it will stay in the 3DS/2DS family. I remember getting a PS2 in its first year, and there was practically NOTHING decent to play for the first year until Gran Turismo 3 - and I don't like racing games. I bought the PS1 version of Final Fantasy VIII instead. Yet the PS2 ended up with arguably the biggest library of games in the console era. Not saying Switch will get anywhere near that (it won't), but these are very early days. I'd love to see a few more quick and dirty ports thrown onto the Switch, but Nintendo is keeping a really tight control - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. And like Alexythimia says, there's a distinct lack of "grown-up" games, if you don't want to include Zelda. Holding out for XenoBlade 2 this year, and I think everyone expects Nintendo to knock it out the park with Mario Odyssey. They usually do. ARMS looks very interesting, but don't know if I want that AND Street Fighter II.
Great advice! I won't skip nights all the time but I think part of my challenge is aimless wondering and not having stronger weapons yet... so knowing how to use the flint with wood is great. I'm finally moving toward the main quest line for a little as I want to upgrade inventory and get a bit more of the story structure out so when I explore I don't duplicate efforts etc... Now I just need to remain focus and follow to the first storyline icon. QUOTE=Alexythimia23;4007457]Just to backup trublu, The nights are awesome for different plants insects animal and also quests! So long as we're talking about what we wish was on Switch, not that I don't have enough games to keep me occupied just now and obviously it's very early days.... But here's my number one. The same thing I've been wanting for the best part of 15 years. A sequel to Eternal Darkness. I loved that game, still do and still play it but a new one would be awesome. Then I wouldn't object to new instalments of F Zero, Wave Race and oh what was that other lesser known game, oh yeah, Metroid. Can't believe we've not had new games from those franchises. What do we get instead? Friggin 1 2 Switch and Arms. Grumble, grumble, complain, whinge. (Actually I'm starting to like the look of Arms though.)
Apparently eternal darkness maybe coming to switch as i heard some news along the lines of Nintendo renewing the license for it, or something along those lines..... And without a doubt i wud bet a years wages we will see a new metroid and many other games we want to see as switch has been a huge success so far, and this time they have played it smart to space big games out over the year. Wait till xmas comes switch will sell like hot cakes and devs will want to capitalise on this for sure. Orangutan said it right....its VERY early days for the switch yet were wanting all the best games now! Haha i cant help it, there is something about being able to take a game on the go and then play on tv with even better resolution that makes gaming on a switch the best gaming experience period. God i just cant patiently wait for 3rd party devs to bring us some epic games! P.s i hope they hurry up and give us a release date for Project Octopath the traveller!
If I remember correctly they've never actually let the trademark expire, they keep re-filing for it. Every new Nintendo system I buy, which is all of them, I think maybe this time. Alas, so far the planets have not aligned. But maybe this time It's only natural that we want lots of good games, even from the get go. There's little reason why we couldn't have more quality Nintendo releases sooner than later. It's not as if they decided six months ago, hey let's make a new console. So far though I'm happy with the selection of games I have for the Switch. Though there's a long wait between now and Mario Odyssey. Hopefully they have some goodies hidden up their sleeves. If ever Nintendo needed a consistent, strong, regular lineup of games it's with the Switch. We don't want a repeat of the Wii U (sales wise.) I mean it makes little difference to me, I buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendos ip, but most people want more. Nintendo could really do with a hit this time around. They're off to a good start but it's far too early in its lifecycle to determine if Nintendo can keep the momentum up. By this time next year we'll have a far better insight into how the system is going to perform in the market. I'm also hoping by this time next year we'll have had more than a handful of good ninty releases added to the roster.
