Thanks for popping by, Roger! The Switch is never going to be able to compete with the iOS games library, is it? I'd argue that nothing on iOS competes with Zelda either, but if that doesn't grab you then it is probably way too early to jump on board. I think it will get better - SteamWorld Dig 2 and the Wonder Boy remake look like good indies to come - but iOS has so much already, and more every week. I'm still enjoying both platforms. Lovely to use physical controls again with the Switch, after so long exclusively using touchscreen devices, and to play legitimately AAA games again, but I also still love the inventive and huge library of iOS.
Gamevice on any iOS device feels just like the physical controls of the Switch if the app developer supports controllers right. I love my switch. Didn't expect to, was happy to sit on the wii u gamepad with black brick plugged in where i gamed and had zero interest in chasing a switch down. When my brother walked up to me, put a switch in my hands and said 'i bought 2, one for visiting friends and one for me personal but i couldnt pass on the red/blue one i saw at walmart so i now have 3. here, take this and pay me when you feel like it' i couldnt pass. Zero regrets. Between the switch, iOS, nvidia shield tablet, vita and 3ds... my stationary in house console gaming addiction is dead.
I really miss my Switch. I just sent it to Nintendo for repairs. The motion control issues I mentioned in an earlier post, along with a bent dock and screen popping up on the right side caused me to send it in. Hopefully it won't be too long before I get it back. I'm having Zelda withdrawals at the monent#
Woah that's some bad luck. I hope those issues aren't too prevalent. Was Nintendo customer service good about getting the repairs done? Did they give you any grief?
I didn't know much about the Switch and decided to get one based on what I saw from Zelda. So far I'm surprised at how much I like the Switch. I personally don't like touch controls but for the past several years have primarily been a iOS gamer with the iPhone and iPad. Now that I have a Switch I'm likely going to play Zelda and unsure what else since I haven't really been looking at games much... that being said the advantage of iOS to me is the amount of games and price. I won at least 30'games on my iPhone or iPad that I haven't gotten to play muc of but decided to buy when they were on sale. I also have bought plent of games on the spot and have spent .99 - $19.99. The biggest negative for me and the Switch is the price of games. As an old school gamer who still has an original PS3 as my most advanced console (not including the Switch) and someone who has absolutely paid up to $59.99 I've gotten so spoiled with the iOS as so many of their games are so amazing for the price. I just bought the for $9.99 kingdom new lands as a spontaneous buy so I'm definitely not trying to be a cheapskate etc... I'm just saying an epic game like Zelda is a deal for $47.99 with 20% off but I can't see myself buying 3-4 $47.99 Switch games per year as I'm getting to old for gaming but I can see myself buying 15 - 20 iOS gaming a year for the .99 - $9.99 and walk away thing wow. I bough that man at great games for $50-$60 and not blink an eye. Getting old is great but does change my ability to play games etc... Loving the Switch especially Zelda! I do love the joycons over the touch screen!! Hoping the Switch can get some competitive price indie titles.
Yeah, the early adopter blues! JK. Honestly, I don't regret getting the system one bit. I've had over 80 hours of fun times with Zelda. To answer your question, this was the first time I've ever called Nintendo in all my years of owning their consoles and I've gotta say the customer service was stellar. They were extremely polite and helpful. Also, they let me know that the nearest service center was in California, not too far from where I live, so hopefully, I won't have to wait too long. More importantly, I hope my Zelda save comes back with it too#
Yeah from your posts you could tell u were not that interested, u dont gotta be sorry either each to their own. Your the only person i know on the forums ive joined that's actually not liked it and wanted to sell it! Good to see others views on here and that its all positive! My only gripe is games being released that are already out on 3ds and old games from neogeo, sure i dont mind them and i have purchased a few, i just wish we had more unique games at this point or at least wii and gamecube virtual console :/
Yeah I keep hoping for some AAA surprise release. After Zelda I'll get I am Setsuna and Shovel Knight and I might get Mario Kart 8 this month. I think that's it for the next few months. I'm anxious to find out more about the Virtual Console and how many games will be available when it opens. Nintendo is really being tight lipped about it.
Yes, the virtual console was one of the things I was most excited about - I want it now! At least give us some details, Nintendo. Depends on reviews but, after I finish Zelda and/or Shovel Knight, it'll probably be Blaster Master Zero or the Wonder Boy remake next. Mario Kart is only a definite maybe (not a huge racing game fan), so my next big AAA buy will probably be Mario Odyssey or Arms. Or Fifa, when that comes. Loads more good indies due this year, though.
I agree with Mario Odyssey and maybe Mario Kart... I didn't love Mario kart on the wii. Maybe to Arcady for me...? Mario Oddssey sounds fun! I'll look into Arms, splatoon (?) and if they have FIFA...? I used to love a game called pro evolution soccer on my old PS3.
I am setsuna is decent, I really like the sound track, gameplay isnt that deep but im only and hour and a half in so that will change. Apart from zelda my games are, i am setsuna, fast rmx, all the neo geo games so about 4 in total on uk, little inferno and masterblaster and shovel knight the more expensive one with more content. I gotta say none of the games i have apart from i am setsuna really do anything for me, they are not bad but i own them on ios or 3ds. Plus the control setup on the neogeo games are not to my liking at all, very unusually setup with regards to wat button is assigned to wat action?! They could port some fantastic titles from the wii and wii u or gamecube, ad they would sell great but so far no sign if that yet Does anyone know on a rough date or time on the virtual console relese??
Nobody knows anything about the VC... Loads of commentators have been talking about it, but there are no confirmed details of when and how it will appear. All the suggestions are that there will be a subscription service, with free NES/SNES games provided on a monthly rotation basis. I hope (and suspect) they'll also be selling the old games, as the subscription model doesn't suit me.
From what I've read, you only get to keep the free games for 1 month and then you have to pay for them if you want to keep them. Unlike PSN where you could keep free games as long as you kept subscribing. I guess it's better than nothing. I'm wondering if we will get a discount on games we already own on other systems. I have a lot of VC games on my 3DS and I really don't want to repurchase them at full price.
This doesnt sound promising:/ nes and snes games?? Like the nes and snes games they have released on all other Nintendo consoles? Like the ones i have on 3ds?? That will be terrible, it really will, i was hoping for games we have not yet had. Heres to hoping they will be different?!
Well, other commentators expect to see Gamecube games on the Switch, as it just makes perfect sense. That would be a first. Not sure what that library has to offer, but a quick glance online shows me Super Mario Sunshine, a Paper Mario, two Metroid Prime games, two Zeldas, one Fire Emblem and a Tales RPG - I'd settle for that! I suspect Nintendo don't want old VC games to steal from Super Mario Odyssey's thunder, though. They want that to be the Christmas system-seller, and probably won't want people downloading Sunshine instead. The very nebulous information on the Switch OS itself says that we all have free Nintendo accounts until late 2017, so I guess that's all the info we'll get for now. I'm sure it's no coincidence that Odyssey releases around the same time.
Man I finally beat mom on BOI! I had insane power by the time I got to her. Then the very next run I beat her again but for some reason I didnt beat the game and I went to another room and it was endless bosses with no way to win from what I could tell. Did I do something wrong?
Sorry ignore me! I thought u meant botw! Haha # u meant bindong of isaac! I was thinking who is mom in zelda?! Lmao
