Therefore, it's the name NES to turn 25 today, right? (Was Famicom in Japan)

Does this mean NES can finally go out drinking with his buddies? Hang on, I've got my dates mixed up.

It means he's old enough to rent a car and drive a taxi for a job in the U.S.

    Yay NES!

  7. I remember first reading about the NES around this time 25 years ago in Games magazine. At the time I'd just migrated to a shiny new 8-bit Atari computer (a 600XL at that point, woohoo!) and reasoned that my computer could do so much more than a simple game system so I didn't need another game console. (I just sold off my Atari 2600 with all of my games.) I still wanted it though, mainly because of R.O.B. I had a fascination with robots (well, what kid didn't?); I would have killed for an Omnibot back then.
