Especially Pushmo and Crashmo. Then you have the Virtual Console as well. * Haven't played, just heard good things about them
I also thought it was a joke, "2ds", what's next; Xbox one and PS vita?! Wii U and the rest aside, who the hell gets paid to name these things, all I know is... When a kid opens this at Xmas, with or without Pokemon, he will wonder why he didn't get the 3ds. I also have to add the "2ds? You mean a ds?"
I'm not sure how much I'd bother with some of the 1st party games, I prefer something you can invest time into, like Harvest Moon and Monster Hunter. I'll check the others out online but I'm probably not as likely to buy a straight forward platform game unless it's exceptionally good.
Despite the 3ds library the DS library is pretty amazing. Just castlevania alone gets the best three games in the series since the ... well,GBA. Still these games are the pinical of Castlevania IMO. Then there's Hotel Dusk and its sequel Last Window (only in English from EU, still worth the import). These are some of the best adventure (sort of point and click style) games I've ever played. I'd put them above my love for even Te Briken Sword series. Then there's one RPG series that is my favorite of all time. No not Final Fantasy (which does have some representation on the DS with ports to ios). Rather i speak of Dragon Quest. There are 4 games in the main series and 3 fantastic spinoff games on the DS. I personally like DQ:Monsters Joker above anything Pokemon. So even without touching 3d titles, the DS alone has a massively awesome library. It was my main platform before getting an iPhone.
There's more Final Fantasy games on DS than just III and IV (which are the only two to have been ported to iOS). There's FF XII: Revenant Wings, FF Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift, FF the Four Heroes of Light, FF Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates, FF Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, and FF Fables: Chocobo Tales.
Nintendo should make a 3DS attachment for the Wii U. It would work just like the (fake) 1DS and the Super Gameboy / Gameboy Player, using the gamepad.
You must be speaking of the Upton prototype. Everyone agreed it was the best looking design however it never went into production because its CPU was underpowered.
