Would there be any interest in this?
For legal reasons, you would have to supply certain elements yourself (eg ROMs). The hardware is ready for the challenge, I think, at least on the A5 devices.

Playing WWF No Mercy at 960x640 (N64 ran at 25% of that), with modern graphics filters (eg. advanced texture scaling) while taking a dump would make me sooo happy. :)

If there is enough interest, I'll open a Kickstarter fund, take investments, and start working on it.

I would be interested if you would also optimize it for A4 also :)

The A4 should be good enough; just tune down the graphics a bit.

Wasn't there a working N64 emulator on iOS? I came from Android and we had a working one there that played real smoothly but eventually Nintendo had Google pull it. Developers name I think was Yongzh if you want to ask him about it,

ZodTTD has n64iphone, but it hasn't been updated for awhile, and doesn't have the souped up graphics I want. That's why I'm thinking maybe it's time to do it over.

So personally I would have never even looked twice at jailbreaking were it not simply for the possibility of being able to run super mario 64 or mario kart 64. I still don't plan on jailbreaking since I still don't want to deal with it, but I simply would love some way to play those games and a few other N64 games. So I have to ask two questions hoping there is a way to get an n64 emu w/o jailbreak (bear in mind I have no jailbreak or development knowledge really).

I know we have seen a few emulators pop up in the appstore to be removed shortly after, but a few people were lucky to get em while they were live if the slipped through review. So ould it be feasible for a dev to try to submit one in hopes it could get through for a while, or are the repercussions too much (losing dev license, etc).

Secondly, what about those ad-hoc type builds use din beta. Is that limited in certain ways or could a dev in theory distribute un-reviewed apps like that.

Again, no real knowledge of this stuff, but I was curious if there is any feasible way in the near future of getting an n64 emu without jailbreak.

Apparently, he is working on an update that should come out VERY soon that will enable it to work on iPad, iPhone 4 all running iOS 4x, iOS 5x
