Seriously. This needs to happen. That's quite possibly my favorite game of all time, and one that I will never, ever part with.

The second part of that sentence is correct, but I fail to understand the first. Surely the point in buying Pilotwings is that the series is utterly amazing.

    You sir have excellent taste.

The developers have said that they would love to make a sequel to TWEWY. The game was a commercial (specially for such a niche game) and critical success. People adore this game. A sequel is inevitable. I can only imagine the things that they could do with the 3DS technology.

The game comes with 6 AR cards. So far we have only seen the "content" of the one with the ? sign, but it will be interesting to see what functions the others have:

Interesting, i thought they all had the question mark on them. I think either the picture doesnt matter they're just a showcase of popular nintendo characters and all the AR games are kept on the system. Or the pictures do matter and each one will activate a game to do with the picture. In that case i hope there is a pokemon one. On this subject i really hope devs embrace AR and develop their own AR games to continue past the 6 bundled games

I've always thought that the show and the game were pretty terrible, but I would honestly be really intrigued and excited by a Yu-Gi-Oh style card game using the AR function. I know they did something similar to that on the PS2 using the Eye, but I think that it could be absolutely incredible with the 3DS.

I can only imagine 2 people with 3ds's having an augmented card game with each other.

The 3DS just produces statues of the characters from the other cards so you can take 3D pictures (you can select between different poses). The question block card will be used for more general stuff such as Mii's, dogs from Nintendogs and AR games.

All those cards do is bring Samus, Kirby, Mario etc out into the world. Again - static statues, and you can change their pose with the face buttons. You can also take pictures. I managed to get all the cards/characters to appear at once, which I thought was quite cool. There's some cool sound effects from their games when the characters appear, too.

So, that's what they do. The character cards aren't games, but the character card bit - I think it's called "Star Viewer" - is one of the 'six' AR games."

Oh, some news on the other preloaded games.

    http://www.3dsfocus.com/2011/02/street-pass-quest-detailed-3ds-turn.html

    Street Pass Puzzle

Street Pass Puzzle seems to be a game where players collect pieces of a 3D puzzle from interacting with other 3DS owners who have their Street Pass functionality switched on. The more players you interact with, the more pieces you gain, which you can then use to slowly build and complete your 3D puzzle.

    Street Pass Quest

It begins with your Mii having a "dream" of sorts, where upon you wake up in a cage, trapped in a tower. The way out? Use Miis you have collected via StreetPass, battling in a turn-based system against increasingly powerful enemies. If you haven't collected any Miis, for 2 Game Coins, you're able to buy a cat in armour to represent you. Rich used the cat, whose attack options were Sword and Magic.

There are approximately 16-32 stages/levels/battles (Rich didn't have a chance to count them all), and he guessed that it would take two or three battles with each enemy to match their power, and that up to 3 Miis would be able to fight at once. In the first two levels Rich managed to play, he fought against ghosts.

Each attempt to rescue your captured Mii from the tower is concluded with a re-cap of the enemies you have defeated, as well as the remaining health of the foes you have begun to battle, but not yet beaten.

So that's Star Viewer, Face Raiders, Target Shooting, Street Pass Puzzle and Street Pass Quest. There will be seven games preloaded into the 3DS (6 AR games + Face Raiders), so two more games yet to be announced.

I'll be picking only SSFIV. I'll wait for people's reviews/impressions about Steel Diver, which seems to be pretty good but I'm not convinced yet.

Frankly, I'm not sure if I'll pick up anything from the launch roster. SSFIV looks good, but I'm not that big a fighting game fan. Everything else doesn't seem compelling enough for a full-price buy (though Samurai Warriors could make the cut for me).

I know I'll be buying Okamiden and Radiant Historia, so I'm glad for backwards compatibility.

Come to think about it, I'm not too mad because the launch lineup is lacking since I'll be getting Pokemon Black, which will probably take most of my 3DS gaming time.

Holy crap is that game going to be huge.

Yeah, I think I'll be waiting until more of the Nintendo titles come along to jump on this train.

Pilot Wings Resort and Steel Diver look potentially fun, but they also look like they should have been free pack-in games, especially Pilot Wings. That's one small part of Wii Sports Resort. If Wii Sports Resort consistently only of that part we'd all feel ripped off, and 3DS games are $40, only $10 less then Wii Sports Resort! Heck, it should be 3DS Sports Resort and contain a whole variety of games in it, not just one.

First review scores are in for Japanese launch titles.

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition – 34/40
    Samuari Warriors Chronicles – 34/40
    Winning Eleven 3D Soccer – 32/40
    Puzzle Bobble 3D – 24/40
    Nintendogs + Cats – 38/40
    Ridge Racer 3D – 32/40
    Combat of Giant Dinosaurs 3D – 23/40
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask – 32/40
    Shanghai 3D Cube – 26/40
    Super Monkey Ball 3D – 32/40

I was surprised by nintendogs, it looks too similar to the DS version to get a high score like that

Comments - Best 3D effects were in Winning eleven (PES) and Samurai warriors, Super monkey ball is alot of fun but you cant use 3D and gyroscope at the same time without the 3D going out of focus
