I preordered mine a couple weeks ago. Managed to get the "special" black one. Ha. That gold MM one looks so sweet. Wish I could have somehow got one but I like the black color just fine. So what's this talk about a power cord? It comes with one, right?
Ahaha.... Ohhhhh boy. No, it does not come with a power cord. And I think it's silly that they made the MM N3DS all gold. Gold doesn't really fit MM that well. Something like a black and silver and purple one would have been much more fitting.
It's sooo dumb that it doesn't come with a power cord. Nintendo is so weird sometimes. I wonder how many people are going to be excited to get their New 3DS XL only to find that they can't play it until they run to gamestop and buy a power cord for it.
Would you rather just pay $209.99 for the new 3DS that included the charger of $199.99 with the option of spending $10 on a charger if you need one? I'm kind of glad to see companies ditching unnecessary accessories.
I'd rather spend $199 and get a charger too. Now go away, troll Definitely makes more sense, but to me gold just says "Zelda".
Nope sold separately. I have the opportunity to get a MM edition but I think I'll stick with my red one I have pre-ordered.
It seems like the vast overwhelming majority of people buying these already have a 3DS, and a charger to go with it. I have 3. I'm glad I'm saving $10 on the new one by not getting yet another charger in the box. Similarly, if I could get an iPhone for $30 less with no charger, sign me up. I'm drowning in Lightning cables and USB chargers.
I totally thought you were joking. I see what you mean though. I had a few extras back when I had my DS. I don't mind having extra charging cables, and realistically don't think Nintendo would charge $210 for including a charging cable. My guess is they didn't include one for the same reason you stated - the majority of people already have one. I'll either buy one Friday when I pick up my 3DS or see if my nephew has an extra lying around.
As an option, sure. But exclusively? It's kind of bonkers, right? I plan on selling my current 3DS because - why do I need two of the same thing? So now I sell my 3ds without the power cable? No that doesn't make sense either. It just plain doesn't make sense for us consumers. It makes a little sense for Nintendo because they take less of a hit, a little extra on the side selling an ever so slightly improved 3ds without a power cable.... At the end of the day it's $10 so I don't care that much. Nintendo has always been a little strange. But it's still a little bonkers and it's a stretch calling it an optional accessory.
True, it's just seems silly to me that they'd make it almost identical to the Ocarina of Time original XL they made, save for a few symbols differences on the top face. And MM is the one game not to make a gold system for. It's so unique compared to the others, and much darker. Just doesn't scream "gold" like Ocarina or another does.
Exactly, a majority of people already have one, so they can cut the cost by $10 by not including one. Or, maybe it's not cutting the cost, but increasing their profit
A common misconception among gamers is that game developers and hardware companies operate on a not for profit basis. This is incorrect.
