From other peoples experiences, it seems Nintendo will send you a new one if the scratches are due to one screen scratching the other.
Little bro got me Samurai Warriors Chronicles for the 3DS for my birthday. Can't say it's a 3DS game I wanted, but it's nice he got it, lol. Another to add to the collection. Anyone tried Tales of Abyss yet? First real RPG for the 3DS, and I'm pretty interested in how it is.
The Tales games are very high-quality JRPGs for the most part, and the original PS2 version was excellent. If I had a 3DS, that would be one of the first games I buy besides maybe one of Nintendo's first-party games.
Wasted forty bucks on Pokemon Rumble Blast. The game is so repetitive it's just collecting a bunch of Pokemon while pressing one button to attack. Super Mario 3D Land is by far the best and I just unlocked more worlds and another character just last night. And thanks to IGN for posting that unlimited lives video- That was awesome.. Anyone tried Tetris Axis? Love the tetris games and this looks like it has a few new additions that might be good, especially in 3D. Maybe I should have spent thirty dollars on it rather than forty for Pokemon Games I have so far: Super Mario 3D Land Ocarina of Time Pokemon Rumble Blast Star Wars III: The Clone Wars Games I want: Pokemon Grey (?????) Mario Kart 7 Kid Icarus
I believe it's hitting the US in February -- will definitely pick it up. BTW, backtothis@: Samurai Warriors is probably the worst game I've ever paid full price for. Perhaps you might be able to enjoy it as a freebie .
Yeah, I actually told him to return it, lol xP. Not worth the $20 he bought it for. Didn't bother opening it. He was glad to have his $20 back -_-. Oh, ToA isn't coming until next month? I usually thought when IGN put up a review, it was out in the US already. It's indeed been announced for Valentine's day though for NA after checking the web just now.
Anyone got any idea when the Resident Evil: Revelations demo is supposed to be out? The game comes out on Feb. 7th and if I recall correctly Capcom confirmed demos for NA and EU territories.
Btw, Mario Kart 7 3D is probably the best kart racer I've ever played. Definitely the best in the MK franchise, especially if you're up for racing online. Splendid. FP Nintendo titles are definitely still the best.
Has anyone tried Cave Story 3D? I love the computer version and have been on the fence about getting the 3D game.
Games that I like: WWE Allstars Lego Pirates Need For Speed The Run F1 2011 Splinter Cell 3D Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy Game I think is okay: Super Mario Land 3D Games that I do not like, but still own: Lego Stat Wars 3 NASCAR Unleashed Games that I own, but have not tried: Resident Evil Mercinaries 3D Samurai Warriors Chronicles Ghost Recon Shadow Wars Games that I have demoed and have zero interest owning: Star Fox 64 3D Mario Kart 7 Games I have sold: Asphalt 3D Driver Renegade Legend of Zelda 3D Ridge Racer 3D (Zelda was "meh." Ridge Racer was repetitive, as usual, and got old. The other two are steaming piles of turd.) Yes, I've purchased 16 3DS games. And I have never met a first party Nintendo game that I actually like. Not as an adult anyway. Some are merely more tolerable then others. I think that kart racing is just about the stupidest genre of video game ever created. But that just me.
I'm not sure about NA but Nintendolife have just tweeted that the Resident Evil: Revelations demo will be available in the European eShop from tomorrow (along with Cooking Mama 4) which seems about right given that the full game releases here in just over a week.
Yeah a bunch of sites are reporting that the demo is gonna be available tomorrow. It's about flippin' time. You Europeans get the full game about a week or so earlier than us though.
I still say that if you are a fan of console-quality games; of so-called "hardcore/dedicated" games on a handheld device, that Splinter Cell 3D is the best game on the 3DS. Impressive, both as a handheld game, and for the way in which it utilizes 3D in a mature "life-like" setting. There is nothing on the 3DS like it. And yet, the game was largely panned, and that baffles me. It has a PSP-1000 control scheme, which the NDS rarely even utilized. Using face buttons as a de facto second analog stick. If you had never owned a PSP before, it might feel initially awkward, but still--. I don't get it. The game retails for 19.99 now, I think. I suppose the plot is convoluted and doesn't make enough sense, but I never really saw anyone complaining about that particular shortcoming. Anyway, Resident Evil will obviously bypass Splinter Cell 3D. I'd be shocked if it didn't. Resident Evil is going to cost 49.99 though. I'm buying the game anyway. Prices don't concern me anyway; only quality of the game.
Demo's mind blowing to me because of how underrated the graphical capabilities are on the 3ds. Take that haters
Frankly, I was underwhelmed. Visually it's not that much of a step up from Dead Space or Shadowgun on iOS (at least on my 4S) and I can easily think of better looking games on the PSP. I particularly found the atmosphere to be rather lacking for a survival horror game -- few particle effects (though the ballroom had nice fog), no persistent blood, no decay effects, etc. The cut scenes are pretty but pre-recorded and clearly made with a different engine. Outside of the cut scenes, character animation is pretty stiff, with canned moves for things like picking up objects. The controls are okay, but unless you have eight fingers on your right hand forget about using the touch screen for camera movement (a big flaw on other DS shooters). Creature design was top-notch (as you would expect on a RE game) but the monsters were so well lit that they weren't really that scary, just annoyingly resilient. Oh, and the 3D was woefully underutilized: depending on your perspective that's either a plus or a minus. Now, if this were $12 iOS game, or a $20 downloadable one, I would think it looked great. But at $50 it needs to be compared with full console titles (or in my case, OnLive/PC games). I paid $50 for DeusEx: Human Revolutions, which blows this game away in every possible way. I paid much less for Arkham Asylum, Borderlands, and Splinter Cell Conviction, etc. Since I play 3DS games on my couch most of the time, the portable aspect of the experience does little for me. After playing through the demo, I am far more excited by game like the Tales of the Abyss port.
Shadowgun and dead space don't have any of the depth this does. Don't forget the 3ds is early game wise... graphics will probably get much better latter on with better engines. I still think its a good demonstration of one beautiful looking portable games
Never thought about Dead Space (iOS) for 3ds but if they add that it'll be awesome. Too bad it will probably never happen
The Resident Evil graphics, while decent, look like they've had a noticeable downgrade from early images/videos. I'm not as impressed as I wanted to be.
