Welll......I bought a 3ds(flame red) and I'm not sure why...black friday impulse buy I guess.

I never wanted one, not sure I'll like it but oh well.

Just waiting for it to arrive now. Also bought Super Mario Land 3d, not sure about getting LOZ: Ocarina of Time.

Haven't touched Super Mario 3D land yet, but I did play a bit of Street Fighter 4 earlier. I'm not a big fighting fan, so I enjoy the "shortcuts" the game gives you for special moves.

I haven't been blown away by the 3D capabilities so far, I had a hard time even seeing the 3D. Once my eyes adjusted, it was pretty good. Not blown away, but it was neat.

I really love how red the flame red 3DS is though, really nice color and the slider pad is much better than the psp's analog nub.

So far I don't regret it, but I'm mostly playing DS games on it. I missed playing Elite Beat Agents. If anybody wants to exchange friend codes, just PM me.

If you want to actually see how good the 3D is, play some SM3DL.

Bah, I just noticed the top screen of my 3DS has a dead pixel, I'm going to have to contact Nintendo it seems.

The 10 GBA titles for AP are already out in some regions. Should be seeing them in the US soon, good stuff.

Did you try any of the games yet? Metroid fusion and minish cap are my favs by far. When I was little my dad got me a cheap Chinese version of the US metroid fusion when he went to china. It had a faulty battery so i was never able to keep my saves. I'm so happy I can finally beat it. Minish Cap was a suprise to me :D I've beaten it well over 8 times. Once more shouldn't hurt?:D

Oh, are they out in the US now? I'll check out the eStore when I get a chance later. Didn't know they were already out!

Holy crap, this is going to be fun. F-Zero, Mario Kart, Wario Land 4, Yoshi's Island 3, Metroid Fusion, Warioware, Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, FIRE EMBLEM: THE SACRED STONES, and LoZ The Minish Cap? Omg.

How are all the files so small for eStore downloads? I have 26 downloaded titles now, and I still have 85% of my measly 2 GB SD card free. PvZ is under 20 MB, Metroid Fusion is like 10 MB, etc..

Great first impressions so far. Tried out 5 of the games. They're so much more fun than the 10 NES titles for me. I'll probably be playing a few of them through.

Can't believe I just registered for Club Nintendo today :[. So many of my games are barely worth any coins anymore, but I'm almost at 500 already anyways and still not done entering PINs, heheh.

Definitely a much better set than the previous one (which, frankly, I though was a slap in the face). I have to say, though, that the fact that they prevent your 3DS from going on standby while they are running is pretty damn weak. I already forgot one time, closed my 3DS and when I came back to it my battery was completely drained. That also means that if your commute ends while you're away from a save point, you are basically screwed.

So far my favorite is Fire Emblem, but I haven't spent too much time with anything yet (too busy with iOS titles ;)).

If you purchased your 3DS before the price drop, you will recieve these 10 GBA games for free. Only these 10 are available. In the U.S., you would've had to have paid $250 for your 3DS. If not, you're not elligible to recieve them. Also, there is no way to download these games unless you are elligible. You cannot pay for them. GBA advance games are not, in general, downloadable. Nor are GBA games playable on the 3DS (obviously; there's no cartridge port). These 10 games are simply a one time exception (for now anyway).

Hey, I was hoping I could get your guys opinions on something.

With the current 3DS library, do you think that the 3DS is worth the purchase? Is the battery servicable enough to get you through? I've been seriously contemplating getting one, but these two things have been holding me back.

I think it is at a decent point now where if you are mulling the decision over back and forth like a madman, one must finally pick a stance and just move on..

The device has shortcomings, but it is not crazy-expensive and there's a couple of decent games already available for it (with more coming out soon enough). I think anyone could easily find a few titles to spend a couple of hundred dollars on and they'd feel satisfied with their purchase for some time.

As for battery/revision/etc - if you don't mind waiting for some length of time, there will always be "something better around the corner." If you want to get your hands on good stuff now, well your choice has been made :) Besides, if it really turns out to be an issue you can sell your existing device for a couple bucks and trade up when the new hardware finally shows up. Yeah, it will be a loss, but you'll have had a significant amount of time enjoying yourself already behind you.

As for me, I kinda want to get my hands on a Virtual Boy, they actually look kinda expensive on eBay right now :/

You should probably get both. Their first-party titles are what you want to invest in. SM3DL is definitely the platform-defining title at the moment though. One of the best handheld games I've ever played.

I just sent my 3DS back to Nintendo due to the dead pixel on the top screen. It'll be a long wait, I was just starting to have fun with it.

Super Mario 3D Land is pretty sweet, the 3D is nice. Xevious was a trip in 3D though, not much fun, but fun to look at.

Pushmo was pretty nice casual game. I'm still most playing only DS games on it, but I'm catching up on some games I never played. It's nice having all my DS games on my 3DS though.(flash cart and yes I bought them! :p)

I'm not even sure lol, just meant it would be a long wait because I was finally having fun with it and now I have to give it up.

    According to Nintendo's website though:
"When using the Factory Repair Service in the U.S., the approximate turnaround time is 9-11 business days from the time we receive the product. For repairs in Canada, please allow 14-21 business days from the time we receive the product, to when the product is back to you. The times listed above do not include the time it takes for the product to get to Nintendo. "

    Not entirely true.

My hinge had a lot of slack, so I sent it off to Nintendo. They paid for shipping and the repair is free under warranty.

I dropped my unit off at a FedEx office location on Tuesday, December 12, my unit is already on its way back, scheduled to be delivered (according to UPS tomorrow, December 22) -

I do love in Calofornia, a Nintendo repair facility is in California.

Shipping is in business days only, as is the repair facility.

    Sent Tuesday

    Nintendo received Thursday

Nintendo shipped back repaired unit following Tuesday

Will receive Thursday, in total the process took 8 business days, quite fast if you ask me.
