Four Swords is an awesome free game. Decided to get PvZ and Abyss I and Abyss II as well so I could use up my eStore credits lol. Don't think I'll be getting any more paid games from the eStore after this. They're not too great if you're not into NES/SNES games.
Just picked it up but I haven't tried it yet. I'm glad that they added a single player component, because the chances that I'll play it with other folks is pretty darn small. I was finally able to get back to Ocarina of Time, after putting it aside for about a month. Actually, "putting it aside" is misleading: I kept trying to play it, but by the time I would figure out what to do next, whatever window of opportunity I had was gone. Or, just as likely, I would find that the battery of my 3DS had run out in my bag . I still say that OoT is a great game but it's a terrible fit for a portable platform. I have to wonder how many people who did not beat the game on the N64 are going to make it all the way through it on the 3DS.
Omg I got 4 swords also. I did the tutorial alone but then I got bored. I made my bro play with me but he would exit out right before we got the key and I would have to do the whole thing my self AGAIN
Haha, I see. Yeah, I'm getting nowhere on OoT..sadly I've spent the least amount of time on it out of my five 3DS games. Pretty hard figuring out what to do very often. Yeah, the save function is pretty lame. You have to finish an entire stage, which may take upward of an hour, before the game autosaves. There's no manual saves.
Anyone preorder Mario 3DS? I'm looking forward to finally playing a 3DS Mario game! Also can't wait for Mario Kart 7, played both of these at E3, and they were fabulous!
Picking up my preordered Mario 3D Land today... Nano Assault on 11/22, MarioKart 7 12/4, Resident Evil: Revelation 2/7... That'll bring my total 3DS game library to include: Pilot Wings Resort Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D Star Fox 64 3D Mario 3D Land Nano Assault MarioKart 7 Resident Evil Revelations And the maybe list: Sonic Generarions 3DS 11/22 Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy 11/15 (remake of AC 2) + the 2 DS games I bought recently: New Super Mario Bros and Super Princess Peach For DS, I do want to eventually add: The World Ends With You, Ghost Trick and Legendary Starfy. 3DS games, interested but have no idea when they arrive: Luigis Mansion 2, Kid Icarus Uprising, Paper Mario, Mario Tennis, Monster Hunter Tri 3G, Monster Hunter 4, Beyond the Labyrinth, Bravely Default Flying Fairy, Fire Emblem...
Going to grab Super Mario 3D Land as soon as the campus video game store opens in a little under two hours. Hopefully they have some in stock. So far, I have: LEGO Pirates SSFIV Dead or Alive Ocarina of Time Starfox plus Pokemon Black. I'm not getting any more DSi games, but I'm pretty much looking forward to the same games as you. I know I'm getting Mario Kart 3D for sure in 2011. Probably won't be getting anything else until 2012 when all the other games start dropping.
Super Mario 3D Land looks so fun... I can't decide between that and skyward sword. I am about to buy an iPhone 4S, so I don't have much cash left for games and such.
Just got the last copy of Super Mario 3D Land at the campus store. I'm the biggest iOS fan ever, but I'm pretty darn excited to play this. Hope it compares to Mario Galaxy 2 on the Wii more than just graphics-wise. Edit: Wow, I'm beyond impressed. They made the perfect game for the platform. If only this had been a launch title. If you have a 3DS, don't hesitate. Platform-defining experience. It's as memorable as ever and yeah, in a way you've never seen before.
Just snagged a copy of Mario 3D land, played it, and LOVE it! Great platformer, and you get the Tanooki suit right off the bat, which is quite fun Also preordered Mario Kart 7, and Zelda Skyward sword for the Wii... The only thing that made me sad upon looking at the preorder list was Animal Crossing is not due until May! Oh well, at least we have a few Mario titles before Xmas
I picked up my copy yesterday. I have to say, the game is impressive. Having played Super Mario Bros., and beyond firsthand (during the era they were available retail), I'm astounded. When the N64 era used in analog 3D movement and Mario jumped from the 2nd dimension to the 3rd, this was the Mario I've been waiting for since the series transitioning over in 1996. I remember getting Mario Bros. 3 from Toys R Us for my birthday as a kid...those memories playing through the game discovering the whistles, the running behind the level scenery and swimming under the World 8 pontoons.... Those feelings have since escaped the Mario series, for the first time they're back. I'm in LOVE with this game. Mario has never been about the challenge (maybe the first one), but about the fun, euphoria and joy you feel when keeping inertia flowing from one platform to the next. The game is a PERFECT hybrid of Super Mario Bros 3 and Mario 64. It has knowing "throwback" moments that will dazzle gamers, who experienced these moments in childhood - not through the EShop or an emulator. Sure, it's on a portable platform but the title looks Galaxy beautiful and plays beautifully too. Little touches (up for pop out, down for depth at anytime on the d-pad add to the 3D immersion) abound that give many winks and nods to the past and present.... This is why Nintendo has a magical quality. They're able to charm the seasoned gamer with games that seem creatively out of place in a FPS/RPG cinematic gamescape. I couldn't be happier, really a game like this shows how far iOS still needs to climb, as well as, why I'm glad Nintendo is still thriving.
Seconded. (Or thirded, or fourthed, or whatever.) It really is a phenomenal game. I'm seriously considering trading in my 3DS in favour of an XBox...if I don't, it'll be entirely because of Mario 3D. It's the first game I've played on the system where the 3D looks great and doesn't feel tacked on. At the very least, it has me excited to try Mario Kart 7, and maybe even giving the system more time so that I can try more first party games.
Wholeheartedly agree with the praise for SM3DL. There were several occasions where I popped a smile or chuckle while playing. The platforming has been great so far with a mix of traditional 2D style level and a few that are more open to roam and explore. On it's own, it's a great game and certainly one of the best for the 3DS. For those that have played older SMB games, especially SMB3, I think you will really enjoy it.
Mario Kart 7 will be boss! I'm really excited for that game. It's going to have A ton of unlockable content: Wheels Gliders Racer Karts Propellers As well as: Battle mode, online and 30+ courses! Other games I'm getting this year and early next: Nano Assault, Resident Evil Revelations and Kid Icarus. Curious about: Sonic Generations and Ace Combat. * I wholeheartedly recommend Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D. That game has gotten over 50 hours of my time. It's deep and engaging, as the achievements, unlockable characters and alt. costumes, skills all add up to make the experience deep. Not only that, you level up skills and co-op online racking up combos and working as a team is really fun. Dont foget: the 3D works really well.
I'm very curious about Sonic Generations too... I played the demo on the PS3 a week ago, and it was nothing short of spectacular... it's piqued my curiosity about the 3DS version... I'm also very much looking forward to Mario Kart 7. Played it at E3, and it was the best game I demo'd in the 3DS area... that and Luigi's Mansion 2!
I want a 3D Zelda game now. Their first-party titles are the only reason I buy their devices. Looking forward to Mario Kart 7 3D as well..along with the other Mario series titles that are coming: LM2, PM, etc.
