I'll probably have to skip it I couldn't even play nimian legends. I have an iPhone 6 Plus and the game just shut down every time I tried to move my character I got past the beginning that shows the controls and stuff but after I changed control to some boy (I think) that's when I couldn't play anymore. I guess you have to have an iPhone 6s or 7 . My 6plus is running version 10.3 I think or 10.2 or 10.1 lol I dunno it's 10. Something but not the newest.
Nice pix as always. But in all honesty I am not sure if the anime look is a good idea. Especially Nepto's eyes are already too far on the scale for my taste. And Dominatrix looks like a Bishonen boy, without your text I wouldn't have known it's supposed to be a girl. More importantly: "Daughter of The Empra"? Please don't. The Emprah, that's this guy. There, the name's clearly a joke, and that's fine. In your context, it either looks like a typo, or like you tried hard to be original. Emphasis on tried. What's wrong with the good old-fashioned Emperor? If you really want something else for his title: What is he exactly? What's the cultural background: western/medieval fantasy, East European, Chinese, Persian, etc.? Is he a Priest-King, a Pharaoh, Imperator and Divine at the same time (think Augustus), Pope and Emperor in personal union? Something else? UPDATE: Pindle looks really cute. And Nulzon the Historian approves of his/her (again just noticed I can't tell which) ambitions, naturally

I understand and Im sorry about that. I am pretty sure it is an iPhone 6Plus/6splus issue, and i think it has to do with the way the plus phones handle resolution, because most of the crash reports i get now are on an iPhone plus phone - I can play the game all the way through on a 6 and a 5s and a 6s (on high res on that one). It may also be a bug with Unity - the software i use - i will be upgrading that soon so maybe that will help. Thanks for the technical feedback and i will keep looking into this - what would be great is if i can find a 6plus and 6splus for cheap, then i can test the game actually on the device and maybe that will help me solve this problem.
Thanks Nullzone - this is very helpful feedback as usual I hope you are beginning to feel a bit better. Im not married the the term Empra - Ill take another look at it. Since i buy my characters, im pretty limited in what I can do. The artist for these was the same one who created Giska, but there are several combinations i can work with (plus i can customize things myself like Nepto's blue skin). Im sure the characters will evolve as the story (which is generally plotted out bit it being worked on more now) evolves. I'll circle back once ive fleshed out the characters more.

Over the decade+ a lot of things have changed, but many of the characters and the locations have stayed the same.

I just started the Beta a day or two ago, and the update just hit! Wow, I'm late on that one. Getting better and better with each update though. Surprised that I'm still surprised each time. And those characters look amazing. Can't wait to see how they all come together.
Thank you Update 7 and 8 are mostly about behind the scenes optimizations, basically getting the project ready to handle Vandgels. But they are important updates, and im excited because i am almost ready to get onto new content - which i have been preparing in a separate project. Im excited too about the new characters and seeing them. There is a new world 4 times as big as brightridge, snowy mountain peaks, and a grand citadel of Vandgels itself coming soon, and i have architected things so that any improvements made to Vandgels will show up in BrightRidge as well so expect things like new animations, better swimming and more.
I love the update but my settings for quality are not sticking is there a area where I'm supposed too go to lock them? and your game thinks I'm a iPad mini 4 gen when I'm a iPad Pro 9.7 ...
I'm glad you updated, and your feedback has some very helpful advice. For the settings, it only saves 6 of them at the moment. This is mostly because i still havent figured out the best way to recover from a crash if you choose a setting thats too high fr your device and then restart with those settings still there, so ive started with the more innocuous settings for now. The settings it (should) save are: Shadow distance tree distance terrain quality draw distance grass density grass distance i THINK even if it does save those, the checkmarks may not change to reflect that, even though it will load in those particular saved settings. So you might choose high rass, and when you reload see high grass, but the checkmark might be on teh default. This is because when i built the ui (a couple of years ago) i didnt really know what i was doing In update 8 or just after im looking to rebuild the checkmarks so i can toggle these as well. For now though the actual settings mentioned above will still save on reload. the big ones - like resolution - need a bit more thought. When you restart the game, there is an option button on the top right of the adventure select, and inside here you can reset the quality settings if you get into trouble (but you wont on an iPad pro because it is a beast of a machine - i am hoping that people wont set a high setting, crash it, then restart with the crashable setting saved, and end up in a loop. I may have to make it more visible? but i figure i will wait for the feedback. Thats very helpful about the ipad mini 4 detection. I am actually using a 3year old version of unity to make the game, because newer versions of unity are very unstable on mobile. Indeed all these optimizations are just so i can update to a 2 year old version of unity in version 9 ! Anyways, my version of unity actually cannot detect anything past an iphone 6 or so, so for all unknown devices, which i assume are newer, i just set it mid high. What i have learned though is that every device has a device sring, so in version 8 am am rewriting this detection - instead of seeing an ipad mini 4 (presumably because it doesnt know what it is and has chosen the highest device it understand) ican detect the iPad pro device string, and then use that to set custom settings per device. A lot of work but it is coming. It would really help if you could join the beta testing - when i add that in you could tell me if it works in detecting the ipad pro, and also give me a good idea of how much the ipad pro can handle. Yeah, these two updates (7 and 8) are mostly behind the scenes, so its been hard because i have a LOT of new content waiting in the wings. But part of being a good dev (and especially a solo indie) is that i need to put all of these kind of dry updates in place before i do the Vandgels game and the upgrade to a newer version of unity, but i am already half way though the next update 8 and i am very eager to get it all working Actually the biggest update in this version is behind the scenes - the game now uses lego blocks to make all teh adventures (before it was a hybrid system) so it makes making new adventures (aside from writing the story) easy - so once i have all of these behind the scenes things done, we can expect new adventures and of course the new game Vandgels, which i am very excited for, because it takes everything i am learning here. Also, the game has been structured so i can work on Vandgels and BrightRidge at the same time, so if i fix the setting in one the other will be updated as well. Sorry for the wall of text, im just excited Let me know if youd like to be on the beta, and that goes for anyone else here too - i can use as wide a variety of testing devices as possible.
