" A post-apocalyptic tale based on a novella by Harlan Ellison. A boy communicates telepathically with his dog as they scavenge for food and sex, and they stumble into an underground society where the old society is preserved."

Im REALLY happy about the lego thing too - its working out just as good as i hoped and is very powerful

Thanks! I am gonna give a try on these settings and see how far things goes.

I really love your insight on procedural. If you can nail it, I am not joking, it can bring us a revolution in gaming. The perfect balance between handcraft and procedural can present us the ultimate gaming experience. Every new game can surprise us, but still keep intact some "core" experience, which is important in RPG gaming, in my opinion.

I am looking forward very much to it. Procedural is what makes Death Road to Canada and Wayward Souls so much fun in my opinion and both have a level of handicrafted design. Imagine a more story and interaction driven game based on that with your level of design and polish. It should be insane! Really.

Is it so much to wonder how would be an post-apocalyptic game designed by him? My guess would be that Fallout 3 design would lost the battle. No kidding.

And he's just one guy as opposed as a big team, which makes it even more impressive.

If you want to get a glimpse of that: I just watched the first episode of Netflix Shannara. Most of the actors suck, Twilight-Justin Bieber Elf Poseurs for Hell's sake :p
But the intro sequence was great, I kept thinking "looks like Robert made it", "he'll love this".

@Protopop: I found the Ellison story and movie rather on the bleak side, not something I really want to associate with that nice scene from your trailer. But alas, the mind works in odd ways sometimes. Good read/watch anyways, go indulge ;)

    Oh and:
I just noticed the thread went over 150 pages, and then realised it's been 2.5 years already.
Started reading again from page 1, purely by accident. What a journey, and quite a trip down memory lane. You've come a very long way since day one. And that you do it all as one person makes it even more impressive.

    Keep up the good work.

Thanks - i checked both those games out and they look like fun! i love the procedural idea and death road to Canada (I'm Canadian) looks like a blast with all those zombies. I feel like doing a zombie horror brightridge adventure now:)

That sounds so ominous:) and thank you:)

One of the new features in BrightRidge 6.0 is double textures. Here it is in action on iPad Air 2. This also has medium screen resolution on, Ambient Occlusion, Depth of field and Antialiasing on, and runs about 12fps:) but you can decrease any of those options (especially low screen resolution gives a huge speed bump anytime) to gain speed and i am eager to see how it will run on an iPad Pro.

Rumour mill says we'll see an A10X in there, the pimped up version of the iPhone7's A10.

Wow. Just wow. Count me very interested in both.

I can just imagine what your "lego" system would bring to the table on a horror adventure. Who would need these kind of movies anymore? Lol. Being a part of it is much more fun than just watching.

On the other hand, the sci-fi concepts look really nice.

Also, I higly recommend DRTC. It is coming to iOS suposedly in march, if it is more convenient to you playing on the go.

agreed. apple team must be blind not to include your game on a feature page. this can easily gain more audience that love graphics intense games and can show the real power of the newest iphone. last build still can't achieve constant 30fps on 7+. i think iphone 7+ can run this game at 40-45fps at least with optimization.

Didn't get around to the new quest yet, just spent two hours walking around and enjoying the scenery ;) awesome as ever, never gets old.
Oh, and I found the Gnome Home, thanks so much for that Robert! I'll let you know if my kid approves as well :)

On the bad side, I had two crashes within half an hour. something I cannot remember ever happening before. Couldn't reproduce them, but will send you the crashlogs.

One of the pictures I took during the stroll, great lighting.

I think eventually once computers start writing fiction, games, film etc that people really enjoy it will be doing a lot of teh heavy lifting - for better or for worse. Kind of like how a washing machine freed us up to do other hings,a nd a super market frees us from hunting, what kind of things will we do when our entertainment is no longer something we need to create ourselves? where will we turn our attention? Who knows, i just hope its not a robot killer future we go into:)

Thanks for the DRTC - yeah i will keep an eye out for it on IOS:)

I just think BrightRidge isnt polished enough for their featured pages. I think it shows its a one man show. But the next two updates focus only on polishing the game and optimizing the code (with a few new items added in), and i am trying to save up to commission a professional icon fro a really talented artist i know. Maybe once BrightRidge 8.0 (final version is here) it may eb more appealing to them? Although dont really know ho all of that promotional stuff works. Thank you though for the vote of confidence:)

I'm also saving for an iPhone 7 - i think its important for me to benchmark it and get a feel for teh current state of device power. tehre are some settings i know i can increase as a default start up on those devices and if i have them i can test it out directly.

    Thanks Nullzone:) Very pretty!

I get the feeling this will be a crashy release. It could be two things: this version adds in the option to double your textures on newer devices - you can click it on earlier ones too but it will just crash it as it needs at least 2gb of ram i find. Maybe even though the game starts in half texture resolution the increased textures are now included in the build and could be adding to memory bloat? The other thing is that right now BrightRidge 6.0 is running 2 separate systems: the original quest engine, and the new AdventureGen 2 "lego block" one that runs the new adventure love and tin. i took great care to isolate the new engine form interacting with anything older, so that it wouldn't break the old adventure. But what i need to do in update 7 first i think is convert the Old adventure (now called The Ballad of BrightRidge) to the new 'lego' system, so that i am only using one quest engine and i can remove the legacy code and optimize what's left. Fortunately i already started converting it, and i can build the new remastered version without touching the old adventure. Its going fast, in an afternoon i was able to recreate the first chapter completely using the new lego blocks, it also will let me update that adventure with soem cinematic etc. Im going to make that the priority here along with code refactoring. I think we are looking at a 6.1 and 6.2 release to fix any critical bugs in the meantime.

So crash logs help! and any description of when teh crash happened (duringa particular scene? at teh end of a quest)

I find most crashes are one of two things

memory/cpu based, when teh game is just too much to handle (bad bugs)
Reproducible exception crashes - if i have forgotten something specifically like when i added he dog i didnt add a health but he was still affected by weapons which crashed the game) - those are better bugs because they are very straightforward.

Ive learned to accept some bugs and more importantly listen to all the feedback and just fix them:) so im ready to go!
