Update 1.2 is out now - making the edge of the screen a safer place, enemies will only enter the screen now if there is a decent space between them and the player.
I bought this game quite right after the release, but the fact that i die after one hit...oh darn, i hate it! * The reason i didn’t hardly play, and i even deleted it for a few days And yet, with every update, the game gets better and better. Now, it really is an ios shmup pearl for me. And yes, what a shame to only see 66 people playing this game So thank you my dear Dev for believing in your lovely game and all your updates. *still PS: AKD - stop taking my 3rd place ...and how the heck did you manage that score, SV? Chapeau!
I was quite happy to have passed you on the leaderboard, Qwertz I felt the same way as you about the difficulty. Have to agree about the dev not giving up on improving it. Very cool. It’s still really tough after the first few bosses but it’s much more manageable now.
Thank you so much, feedback like this makes it all worthwhile. Thanks again, your ideas really helped make NimbleNaut more fun and more forgiving! By the way if you increase the Difficulty in Settings you will get more reward, both in score and in stars dropped, so you can use the beam weapon more often to carve through the enemies quickly and score more points along the way!
Hope you like it, the community here has certainly helped improve the gameplay with their feedback and ideas. Update 1.3 is out today - the default fighter now has a shield that can absorb 3 enemy shots. The twin fighter and solo astronaut at difficulty levels 3, 4 or 5 have more firepower but no shields. There are now Game Center achievements as well as the leaderboard.
Gah! Sorry. I changed email providers and haven't really been paying much attention to my old inbox and didn't see that there were replies here. That and.... Dead Cells has been EATING my time. I played on difficulty 4. Er... whatever the one right under the most difficult is. Once you beat the last boss, the game loops around again and starts on the next highest difficulty. But that multiplier! I just had a REALLY nice streak of not getting hit. I always pick up the defensive upgrades first, and save my laser shots for the guns of each boss that I have the most difficult time with. As for this going free.... I hope it introduces a lot more people to the game. The difficulty feels about as right as it could be, the designs are all great and the dev, obviously, has been freakin' AWESOME with the post-release support. Sucks it didn't gain more attention because it is definitely a quality SHMUP. I'm sure Cave's updates didn't have a positive impact on any potential attention either.... but after removing a bunch of games to make space for all 4 of those that were patched, I still have NimbleNaut securely on the first page of my 'SHMUP' folder.
