So there's a new update version? Is it 1.0.3? I haven't got the update on my app store. The price becomes 40k for 3stars hero? What else difference for this new updates? Just the price reduction? Bug fix?

Great run! I usually lose many heroes in Depths 1 :)

Also, there had been a bit of a stutter when starting each level (the screen would show just a corner of the arena at first); that seems to be fixed as well.

Ehh, the game is meant to be casual, the way it play, the shallow rpg element.
Heavy player is just a bonus player to the dev

The HUGE fix for me was the GC issue! Since I foolishly have about 490 pals in GC, I was unable to play with GC enabled for the last two updates. The game would just lockup on my iPad 3 about 10 seconds after launching.

Notice MUCH less lag when playing on my iPad2. But yeah, the price reduction is a bit of a killjoy. Nimblebit better introduces something else to the game like character customization.

Agreed; the speed buff is a bad idea especially if rats are involved. By the way, the crux of my tip is to walk in a box/square. I find that usually kills off 90% of incoming enemies, especially when you pick up the attack buff on the map. Slice n dice!

Sure thing. Even with all 3stars heroes, the levels are still quite hard to beat, start from Graveyard 3. Better solution IMO is to make us more easier to get through the levels. Further levels will also get us more kills so eventually getting 3stars hero should be faster too. So, 5 stars upgrade, maybe?

Lol 5 stars would be nuts, but that just feels like reverting back to the 100k-for-lv3 state.

Also just make a new high score and reach Graveyard2 :D with lv2 Boomie as leader of a full party, talk about unexpecting.

Lol, for the record, I was the one complaining about the high price. It's just ironic timing that right after I posted that the update came out. I, for one, am not complaining about the cheaper price!

The most recent update made the game significantly more accessible in terms of leveling now. Would love a couple more features:

    • More novelty abilities for heroes at level 3
    • Ability to start from Level 1, 2, 3 depending if you've reached there previously

This technically already exists : you can skip all but the last two levels you already reached using a token each time.
Each "pass" adds another hero to your conga line. And also the kills from the levels are added to your lead hero.

I sometimes skips half a dozen levels starting at depth 1. When I want to go to faster, and when I got a good conga of about 8dudes that I'd like to use in the later levels. As the early levels are easily and quickly cleared, it's not worth it imho.

I had an epic run today that got me Ezora, Gurzog, Kishi and Hydra, but I'm not sure how to feel about it.

Before Nimblebit dropped the gem required to level up I had everyone up to level 2 except Faenel who was at level 3. I also had purchased the red gems ever since they dropped a buck in price. I was able to accumulate about 80,000 gems in about 2 or 3 days of pretty casual play.

Then they dropped the leveling requirements and I went nuts fully leveling a good chunk my party. Then I get this great run, which is awesome, but a) it doesn't feel as much of a "skill" achievement b) it makes me wonder if the gameplay itself was nerfed and c) once I get the final guy and level everyone up, I feel like the game's done.

One of the reasons I keep coming back to this game is to do a little better than I did the last time to get the next cool character. I'm not super mad or anything, but I think there's something to be said for a little bit of the old grind as long as you love the game.

  15. I guess at some point a game is just done.

I for one had more than my share of enjoyment for the $4.99 the red gems costed me vs the number of hours I spent on it unlocking all the guys but the game feels a bit pointless afterwards but it's fine to me. Healthy recommandation as a (now) $3.99 game which is the true cost of it although now with the auto magnet at the end it's less true than it used to be.

Technically though for a newbie it's a $5 game since it costs a $1 + the $4 for the red gem.

The game could have a Quick Play mode of some sort, with seamless levels, that segue into the next. For instance, a door leads to the next level and you arent kicked to a buff purchase screen after every level.

A game mode where we can set up a customised conga line might also be good. :)

Woah, price drop for lvl 3? That is only a good thing, now they need to add more levels, higher levels for the characters, etc. there is room to flesh this game out, big time.
