Hopefully soon they will raise the price to $99.99 per token. Then the fun will be super-maximized!

So how were people receiving dozens of tokens per tourney? I just finished #38 in the TA guild and only got 3 tokens.. Kinda lame :/

Look at my post on the former page.
My guess is that only the 30 highest scores now count for the guild score.
And only the 30 high scorers get the full reward. After that, only 1/10th

I just got 30 tokens for placing 14th in TA1, which was 4th guild

My advice: if you can't pull at least 150/200 kills, or place 30th in the 10 bigger guilds, go to a smaller one or even better, start a new one with some friends. You'll get better rewards being 3rd in the 15th guild than 40th in the #1 guild. ;)
Of course, they're still tweaking the game, so that may change again

From what I can see from the last two rounds, the "X" that NimbleTim was talking about is most likely the top 20 people in the guild. If you are not ranked within that, you will get only the base reward, i.e. 3 tokens.

Think you might be onto something with the 30 top scores.

I finished #25 this time in TA1 (placed #4) and received the 30 tokens.

Hmmm... My 30 tokens I earned from the guild haven't been credited...

Tried creating own guild with a couple other people, guild ended up 300 something, only got 3 tokens.

Becoming less motivated to play in the arena. Still like the game but no longer addicted to it.

You know... This is a great game, there is a surprising game under the hood and a lot of meat on the bone. The IAP paywall dirty nuke is pretty extreme though, I think gamers in general would have been a lot better served and respected if they had sold the game for $1.99 and then had mild, unecessary IAP like hero packs for cheap or something. The red gem is insultingly expensive and the logarithmich XP vs. LVL curve is cheap and will forever stain these devs. I for one will not spend one nickel on this game because of this, so they aren't 'winning' with me. I will hit the paywall, grind until I am bored, and be done with it.

One little thing I would love for the devs to do is stop the annoying way they flicker out the gems as they time out. They already fade in new enemies and stuff quite nicely, it would be awesome if the gems times out as a subtle, pulsing fade effect as well. The way they flash currently is kinda 'jarring' and by kinda I mean I am in danger of having a grand mal seizure or throwing my ipad off the balcony.

Sad that they went for a curveball greedy IAP attack, otherwise a cool game that I will continue to enjoy until the grind becomes way, way too steep to be worth doing.

Finished 10th in the 7th Guild and got 30 coins. So my plan worked. I take it the cutoff is 30th place... Maybe the guild cutoff for getting a good prize is 30th too?

Whatever, it's easy to game the system. Pick any top 10 guild and change to it. Don't play the arena just enter the "In Guild" and see what the top 10 scores are. If you can't compete move to a new guild until you find one where the bottom of the top 10 is achievable. Then play and see how well you can do. Aiming for a guild where the 10th place is 90 is much better for you than trying for a guild where the 10th spot is 500.

I'm going to do the guild deal one more time since I'm down to 1 character to finish getting to level 2 then it's full force at making a run to get the last character unlocked and then upgraded to level 2 and then I'm done with this game until an update comes out that makes it worth playing.

Yes, it's quite likely that only the top 30 guilds get a good prize. I have been sticking to guilds that stay just out of the top-10 radar. Scored easy 10 tokens for finishing last in a 20-member guild.

So how much money/time would you need to invest to unlock the endgame which I assume is just getting high scores. That would mean upgrading all of your guys to three stars.

I agree the red gem is too expensive. It should either be a .99 or OR red gems should be worth 50 gems each. By the way, do they turn the blue gems red or do they leave the blue gems and add red gems on top? This is another example of the opaque design choices. What if you purchase red gem assuming that all the gems would turn red?

Unlocking red gems simply adds reds into the mix; the blue and green hang around. It does boost your income considerably in the long-term (especially with maxed magnet and chest power ups), but it's not going to completely drown you in gems. My average haul is usually between 3 and 5 thousand per run, with my all-time high at around 8 thousand.

I picked one in the top 10 and got 20 tokens. The competition in that guild was very manageable. I think I had only around 150 kills, but before that I was 12th with 112 kills. So I'd aim for a top 10 guild but just explore each one till you find one that isn't over run with top players/spenders/hackers.

Ah not so bad. Still think they should be worth 20.

Sure, because the penalty to those who don't pay $5 should be even larger!

How are people scoring so high in the current Arena challenge? The knights seem to gain more health the further along you get and then overwhelm you quickly. Ember seemed great at the beginning but then To slow near the end. I'm only getting like 70 kills.
I do like that they change the challenge in the arena each time. Again I'll say that I think the arena has the most potential for longevity.

Especially if they made it more fun for individuals and didn't try to force everyone into guilds.
