Are all gems red gems now? And does anyone know if the IAP for red gems will carry over to my other devices?
Well, I have 9 characters unlocked. I get to the level that would unlock ember and my peeps just can't keep up. And that's with them all upgraded to the first level. Getting much further than this without IAP is going to be tough I think. Still, I may just focus on Ulrich (knight), Blaze (mage), Bones (dead knight),and Gizmo (bombs). They seem to be good front runners. Everyone else seems to be fairly bad at being out front even when adopting a different strategy for head on attacks. What I don't understand is sometimes gems recover life... sometimes they don't. Gizmo seems to be one that does work with gems, but it's not 100% of the time. I think that may be key to moving ahead. Some only seem to get health back with a health pickup... those are rare, so that may be a reason to choose certain folks over others for starters because gems aren't rare. Whatever the case, day one with putting some serious time into it and I feel like I'm already hitting the wall. Still, this is probably the first of these freemium games where I've spent the secondary currency to continue a game or to buy the once per game power ups presented before each level. It helps that they give these out or I'd probably just hoard them. Still anyone that enjoys this, give Call of Snakes a look. Tons of folks here have talked about it for good reason, it's a good game. It's a regular paid game where you don't have to use any iap to progress. Cool stuff.
To answer questions about the prevalence of red gems after the upgrade, I've got two upgrades on my chests, and when they appear anywhere between 5-10 red gems spawn. They're not rare, but not nearly as prevalent as green and blue.
Oooooooooh...I just realized now that your guys will die if they run into each other. I was wondering why my dudes would seem to randomly die sometimes! hahahaha gosh I feel like a n00b.
I've noticed that they don't heal at the end of the level chest, right before progressing, because you seem to always start a level at full health. It seems like about 1/10th of my gems are red now. And I just tested on my iPhone, looks like you can carry IAPs between devices, just not progress (there's a 'restore purchases' button in the options menu).
You can do it. What I suggest is that you pick 2-3 key guys to upgrade to level two. Also, when you are at Castle or Dungeon and have a good run going (like the order of your guys, etc) spring for the health and attack speed buffs. Those can help you get over the top at Depths I. Also make sure when you hit Depths I that you have a full complement (spend a token or two to add more if needed). There's a bit of a difficulty hump at Depths I. It actually gets a bit easier on Forest II (and you will have unlocked Ember, who rocks) Btw, gems always heal the leader (no one else), but the green ones are only a tiny bit, so you may not notice.
I just had my best run yet, got all the way to graveyard 2. What really makes a huge difference are the buffs. If you have all 4 enabled and can control your party carefully (since the speed boost requires a bit of a timing adjustment) you can rip through enemies like nothing. I was leading with Ulrich at the time, everyone at level 1. What works wonders at the higher levels is doing hit and fade attacks, rather than trying to brute force a large number of soldiers through a cluster of monsters. Especially in Depths, going for a frontal assault will kill your lead guy in no time. Hope this helps!
I find this game a bit too easy, but it could just be me. I played Call of Snakes A LOT. Its definitely another Nimblebit hit, though.
Yeah, I have not used the speed buff yet, but I intend to start practicing with it some. I don't think I am going to be able to get through Courtyard II without it. Good point about Depths I. All those Embers running around have PBAOE. I actually got through Depths the first time after clicking the videos button and watching a recording of someone beating Depths II. They tended to near an edge or corner and didn't let the, selves get surrounded.
This really helped me out ! www.gamezebo.com/news/2013/03/19/nimble-quest-tips-5-ways-master-nimblebits-new-game I'm playing now each character to the first upgrade with two buffs at the beginning - speed and attack - and then, i the latest level that i haven't beaten yet, the other two buffs. Overall i'm getting stronger and advance with a clearly better and improved gameplay. Might be a bit grindy, but in this case it's just pure fun. A good way to learn the behaviour of those bloody bats and co. For my taste, this game is incredible well balanced and polished to smallest detail. Also, the coin drop isn't bad at all. GOTW material...this thoughtful and amazing labour of love !
Hello! I'm Lucia Han at Magic cube. The members of Magic cube, including me,are fans of Nimblebit's games. We saw one of Nimblebit's co-founders, David Marsh, mentioned about Nimble Quest were inspired by Call of Snakes on a Touch Arcade thread's comment page. We think that Nimble Quest is expanding on Call of Snakes. One thing we worry about is that we have a plan to make a sequel of Call of Snakes and a fantasy version of Call of Snakes(combine The lord of the roads). We are concerned that a fantasy version might be misconstrued as a rip off of Nimble Quest. We are happy to expand Snake-style genre and congratulations on the launch of Nimble Quest.
Thanks dudes, we are big fans of CoS! You won't hear calls of cloning from us if it is a game like CoS.
Classy post , I didn't realize you guys were the ones that did infect them all - I'm buying CoS post haste
This question very might have well been answered, but...when you level up heros, do their perks apply if they aren't the leader?
This is what i told to another how ask the same, but still will be better to have some info from the devs
