Don't get your hopes up... It's Twitter. Remember what happened with sandstorm that was supposed to come out soon also
Im not getting my hopes up at all. I know its not coming out anytime soon. They havn't even entered "Phase 3" yet (the official name and more info). And ngmoco are perfectionists. Gonna be waitin a while for this one.
To believe in Twitter announcements is to get burn in the end! I think this is still months from release and expect ngmoco to hold a press challenge first and wait for the 4.0 keynote
They probably said this to deal with Gameloft's September 1st deadline, and if that's been moved back, we probably won't see it until around the same time or later than MC:S, unless they've already submitted it. I would like to see this get released soon though. Hopefully they both get released before CoD 7 and Reach
I expect a launch at the iPod event on Sept. 9 if the event also features a new iPod Touch and appstore stuff. ngmoco has always been a feature for the keynotes so that seems like a good match. If Sandstorm and Livefire come out the same day and Apple can flaunt two "high quality FPSs" that could draw a lot of gamers in.
If by "launch", you mean that ngmoco's FPS is going to be released on Sept. 9th, then i'd say keep dreaming. September 9th is now 8 days away. That's basically a week. If "Livefire" hasn't even been submitted yet, how in the world is it gonna be released a week from now? Ngmoco knows how many people are anticipating this game's release, so they would definitely keep all their would-be customers up to date about the game's current status. They would update their Twitter page for sure. Actually since you mentioned it, I'm not even sure that MC:SS will be released by the 9th. After all, Gameloft did say "a couple of weeks".
Hmm... over at pocketgamer Tracy responded to demands that FPS should have been on his "10 most anticipated iPhone games of winter 2009:
Those are all great examples of awesome looking games that should be coming out any day now, so i'm gonna have to disagree with NomaD's previous post. I'm really looking forward to Meteor Blitz the most. Hey, what about awesome games that are already out? I'm not sure if you've tried it BOH, but Samurai:Way of the Warrior is one of the coolest games i've played on any platform. Obviously the controls (in their current state) could only work on the iDevice, but I personally haven't played a game on any system that has that art style, and that let's you slice Samurai henchmen in half/decapitate them. It really is a great game, and I recommend anyone who's a fan of hack-and slash games (or not) pick it up ASAP.
