Interesting, I didn't know that! I remember playing the first Dogz game a long time ago, and it was really well done. In what capacity is Andrew Stern working on this game? So does this game save your data to Plus+, or does it store your data locally? And if it stores your data locally, what is to stop you from just signing out and signing in again into a different account? I know Plus+ now supports uploading saves in some games, but not others.
I hope they will submit this game this weekend or atleast by Monday and we have it in atleast 10 days. Thanks Ngmoco
I want this game really bad too. It looks really great and I love dogs. I have two on Foopets. I cannot believe no one is talking about touchpets too. It is coming out too. I am excited about this one I think it is going too be great. I wish you guys the best of luck with this game too.
HI MJ; I have some questions. How is touchpets going too work Will you beable too have more than one dog if you have wifi but want too play single player. Can you buy packs for the dogs clothes, games and toys. If you have time please help thank you.
I know that MJ already said that you'l be able to adopt multiple dogs, but if you're asking if you can have your different dogs interact with each other, then I doubt it, since this feature has never been mentioned. As for the buying extra content, I'm reasonably sure that Ngmoco isn't ready to reveal plans for that yet. It would make sense for them to sell extra stuff if the game is a success, but they're probably not going to commit to extra DLC this early.
You can adopt up to five dogs (but you'll have to "buy" additional dogs with in-game currency as they're a reward for being awesome). You can have two of your own dogs active at any one time--but they won't form relationships the same way dogs do who are invited over for playdates. --MJ
In slidetoplay's podcast they said that when they went hands on with touchpets they saw dlc similar to eliminate. You earn puppy points to get clothes, accessories, etc. But you only earn puppy points some times, though you can pay to earn puppy points whenever. EDIT: Sorry I typed that rather quickly and it doesn't make a lot of sense re-reading it. It will be similar to Eliminates energy/credits system but with puppy points. At least thats what they said at Slidetoplay.
Interesting, so you can interact with two dogs at once, but it influences the dogs' behavior differently than online play does. Seems like they're really pushing for this payment system to be a success. Here's hoping it works out in the public mind, and actually turns a profit after server costs.
I had nintendogs when it came out and i enjoyed it. My dog is pretty lazy so this will provide a great alternitive. Any idea about a release date?
After looking at the mini site on NgMoco.com, I can say from speculation, that this game is brilliantly made. Congratulations, NgMoco, you're about to take the iPhone many steps up the ladder as a gaming device. Although, I don't see myself buying this. I believe that the dog I own gives me more fun than any dog in a game or in real life. I'll definitely be getting Eliminate though.
I agree with almost all of this, except in my case I strangely do want this game. But the lack of offline single player (correct me if thats not true but I remember reading it) is a definite nono for me. I used to have wifi all the time but my connection has been messed up for some time now and I can no longer get it at home (not on my iPod at least, my computer can get it) so having to have wifi would make me only be able to play this game a few times a week at best which isnt good time for a game like this. Hopefully we'll hear more about a hopeful offline mode soon.
This game dosent have offline single player?? So I can only play at home connected to wi-fi? That's not so good.
