I was one of first TA members to constantly opposed what ngmoco plans to do back then and I was flamed a lot coz back then TA loved ngmoco. Guess people began to realize now what they fail to realize a while back
I think he was being sarcastic. Hence, SarcasticGamer. Not sure if this is sarcastic or not but I actually like Plus+ the best out of all of them. OpenFeint has been gaining ground recently though.
This is what i saw: I dont like how Oreos are marketed and sold. So i shot myself in the leg to protest.
but see, that is UP TO THE BUYER lol if you dont want to thats fine, but those who want to win a game quick and move on will pay.
lol, I remember that. I was also one of the members who hated ngmoco's greed in Eliminate and Touch Pets. People loved ngmoco back then, now look at all of ngmoco's recently acquired haters
This thing that ngmoco is doing makes me want to give up on idevice gaming, the platform's future is bleak if this catches on with other developers.
Here's how I see it and I want to know your opinions because maybe we can transform or give ngmoco an idea or two. I love the freemium model but I think it could be done better. Mainly their price levels. 1.) I think that charging for a set number of uses (Eliminate, TouchPets) could be more easily changed to deal in TIME PERIODS; say $.99-$1.99 unlimited for a week, $2.99-$3.99 unlimited for a month, $4.99-$5.99 for unlimited use FOREVER. --Im sure devs could find a way to make that work and these prices would keep games competitive with other devs. IDK about you all but i tend to play a game for a week or so and then let it gather figurative dust. 2.) For games like GodFinger and We Rule i think the current model works just fine 3.) I think ngmoco should stick to what they did with Rolando 2 and charge per episode. That workied very well and people really cant complain what do you all think?
Nobody would buy the time period prices for a week/month. They would more likely buy the full unlimited use for $4.99 - $5.99 which sounds acceptable, but also makes the whole idea of DLC pointless - why not just release the game at a standard price without DLC, like games should be?
Because ngmocos main point behind the DLC based games is to reduce piracy. I would probably buy a week or so once just becase that's about how long any particular game keeps my interest
If ngmoco's point behind dlc based games is to avoid piracy then they should've sticked with the rolando 2 model but nooooooo they wanted more than that .... all they want is your $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
The pricing system for Eliminate would not work with Rolando.... The pricing system varies based on the game but i think as ngmoco evolves into a larger force in the appstore it will stop cap-less pricing
I'm interested in what % of people here are upset only because they can no longer pirate these games... Honestly, I don't understand the ruckus otherwise.
Exactly cuz that is how they modeled it AS A PAY FOR RENT GAME! It's not a game you could play after the ngomoco serves stop working, you could've paid 60$ but as soon as ngmoco see it fit that they could no longer support their servers you are screwed. I like to pay for a game I could own and play again 2-3 years from now if i wanted to.
